Consume grade machines.
Stock to stock, absolutely. The pressurized filter of the dedica kills a lot of the flavor and all of the crema (pressurized filters give foam, not crema). However, if you upgrade the dedica to a good unpressurized filter it can punch way above its weight if you don't brew demanding light roasts tha

Has anyone tried this good looking portafilter from MUVNA for Dedica EC685?
Nope, I switched to bottomless a few months after I bought my dedica, it was brand new and I went through several aftermarket portafilters. Though it might be a seal defect or cutting costs on De'Longhi part.

I can’t get my DeLonghi Dedica to work. Loud noises and no espresso.
My DeLonghi Dedica Maestro machine...barely a year old has been such a high maintenance machine. I just descaled it again about 2 weeks ago. We make maybe 4-5 cups a day of espresso/cappucino. The red light is again blinking and won't let me descale...won't work...won't make coffee and I can't get t

Now I understand why it's said that the grinder is the most important part of brewing coffee after the beans
I'm not sure about shelling 5k over that. Might as well buy a DeLonghi Dedica with an additional 10k's.

Decided I didn’t need a $550 espresso machine
I got my espresso machine from a friend’s porch. It’s a DeLonghi EC680. Nothing special. Grabbed my AeroPress off Marketplace.

Buying My GF an Espresso Machine [$200]
Are you sure? Is she sure? I am asking from experience. I am a coffee nerd but my girlfriend doesn't enjoy it as much. It took me a while to teach her, and for her to not ask me for a espresso every time (I prefer filter). 200 is a very tight budget. A De longhi Dedica is barely there and that is as
