2280 MSI Claw 8 AI+ Mod

For those worried about heat from the heatpipes, MSI coated these heat pipes in a black ceramic coating which keeps the heat in the pipes, minimising heat radiation in this area... So its not an issue placing an SSD over the heat pipes. I've run this mod for over 5months now. one of the first to do

Help with specs

If you want to future-proof the system, look for the latest socket on the motherboard. AM5 will do you best as it is the newest. For the motherboard I would recommend something like the Gigabyte B650E Aorus or maybe even Asus ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme A good Gold+ 850W PSU would do you just fine,

first pc build - feedback pls

I would suggest using pcpartpicker.com (specifically their German version - de.pcpartpicker.com) as it is a much more widely used site and generally pulls information from more retailers. Many of the parts in your list are very expensive for no performance benefit (mainly purely aesthetics). You are

Do I get a new PC or Upgrade this one

New PC. The best thing to reuse is ram, with the current prices, but DDR3 is too old. You've got two monitors but it may not be the worst idea in the world to upgrade one. You'll want to be able to take advantage of your new, over 60fps, life. I have included a 27" 1440p 180hz HDR 1000 monitor. For

PC for Illustration/ Graphic Design work + casual gaming

Alright. Here's the thing. About 6 months ago before the crisis? This would be easy. However, with anything that requires memory modules skyrocketing, we are going to have to make sacrifices. After scrounging around for deals to save you money, I've elected to sacrifice storage and the GPU. I'll dis

Legion Go 2 Vs MSI Claw 8

There is an adaptor for the Claw 8AI+ to fit 2280 SSD's. Been running a 2280 Crucial T705 4tb Gen5 SSD in mine for the last 6 months zero issues. Worth noting, the MSI Claw 8 AI+ also supports Gen5 SSDs for a little extra speed :)

2280 adapter or 2230 2tb drive?

Zero heat concerns. Just do it. Plenty of other threads on this topic with the same answers. I was one of the first to run the 2280 adaptor, and also using a Crucial T705 Gen5 4tb SSD. 8 months with this configuration now and no issues at all. Max temps I've seen is 65deg, which is way below the dri
