The end of sata ssds?
Hopefully chinese brands will keep up and serve decent quality, Samsung and Crucial SATA SSDs are great and its sad to see that a lot of companies are focusing too much on AI.

We need scrapyard wars now, more than EVER
I just randomly checked the used market around me and I'm seeing Ryzen 5 1600 for 20-25€ with cooler. A whole motherboard+CPU+cooler+16GB@2133 RAM bundle for 75€. If I was building an ultra budget build, that's where I'd be shopping right now. And I'm seeing 13 pages of results just for "ryzen 1600"

Is this a decent PC build?
powercolor has 9070XT for 72 and other brands consistantly under 80k .it has more VRAM and better performant.i also suggest haveing a lower capacity drive just for OS and another for frequent read writes and less frequent read writes example 256gb nvme ssd for boot , 1tb nvme ssd for games and stuff

This 2011 iMac has been resurrected
I haven't bought a new computer since 2012 : ) I've acquired many laptops, most from around 2012 to 2015. All (except a 2012 Macbook Pro 13" and a 2014 Mac Mini) run Linux (Ubuntu), take ddr3l ram (which is cheap) and all are totally fine with everyday tasks, full stack web dev, and Android app devl

PC repair shop scammed me
That's a sata ssd crucial BX500 which were cheap and cheerful to start with. I'd 100% not be happy with a used one as my system drive! Why did they not install an NVMe drive? They must have charged you for that drive, no mention of it being 2nd hand and it's the budget sata type even when new. I use

Buying SSD worth it in 2026?
The Crucial BX500 is a reliable SATA SSD, I use one as a game drive, shouldn't be too bad on price

HP Prodesk 400 G6 SFF Office Build.
i had a prodesk for office work and adding that second stick of ram made a bigger difference than i expected. prices on ddr4 are pretty low right now actually. teamgroup has a 16gb stick for around $30. for storage a crucial bx500 1tb is like $45. no need to wait much longer honestly.
