Being doing a lot of research for this. Apparently the best ones are Samsung 870 EVO and WD BlueSA510 and Crucial BX500. A lot of stuff regarding D-Ram for random writing/reading. I'll go for Samsung, it's the most expensive one but it's also the one that has less negative comments (dying all the su

I did a ton of research before getting one. after reading so many people's experiences.. some people cheaped out and got whatever they can find on aliexpress and later posted it failed after a few months.. i didn't want that to happen to me so I looked up what people had that didn't fail on them and

when i replaced my elitebook parts i grabbed a replacement battery from a trusted seller with good reviews. for the ssd a samsung evo or crucial mx500 works great. just make sure to get the right capacity - the g6 takes m.2 sata not nvme. amazon has decent options or check ebay for genuine hp pulls.

Not sure why everyone is recommending the intel 265k here. Specifically in Adobe apps (other than video editing), AMD cpu's do much better. And they do better for gaming as well. AM5 platform will be upgradable for a long time, intel 1851 is alreasy at it's end. For the ssd, put your os and programs

ran into this last month with an old laptop. for Linux native games that'll run on that hardware, try classics like FTL, Stardew Valley, or Hollow Knight - they're all lightweight and have native builds. also check out Battle for Wesnoth or OpenTTD if you want free options. if you ever decide to boo

i've revived a few vostro 1510s this way. the difference is night and day honestly. grab a Kingston A400 240GB or Crucial BX500 - both are 2.5 inch sata drives that fit perfectly. just clone your hdd first or do a fresh windows install. the laptop will feel like a new machine for basic tasks. max ou

Reusing the RAM requires an AM4 system. The budget would allow for a 9070 XT, but I do not know if you have games that require it. (In that case, get a 750 W PSU.) There are no white AM4 motherboards; this one is gray-ish. Small NVMe drive for the OS. (The BX500 is good enough for games.) PCPartPick

nice, doubling the ram definitely helps with multitasking. on a 245 G7 the next biggest bottleneck is usually the storage - if you're still on a mechanical hard drive, swapping to an ssd is night and day. something like a samsung 870 evo or crucial bx500 fits the 2.5-inch slot. also check if your mo

Modern NVMe drives have a much more mature DRAM-less implementation than SATA ones do, although to see that difference you'd need to compare the SATA SSD to an NVMe one with a host memory buffer (HMB), such as the Samsung 990 Evo. DRAM-less SATA SSDs are known for absolutely tanking their speeds whe
