Any recommendations for air purifiers? Ignore the mess, I’m currently in the middle of a deep clean in my room.
I literally just got a new air purifier after doing an absurd amount of research, and the amount of information can be a bit overwhelming, especially when trying to find something bird-safe. So I'm hoping some of my research can help you avoid the amount of digging I had to do haha. I just got a Hon

Setup for 1400sqft apartment
We need to calculate room volume since your ceilings are higher than 8 feet. This is covered under the "CADR Particulate Types and Sizing" heading in our How To Choose An Air Purifier for Particulates [Comprehensive Guide]. Bedroom: 160 sq. ft. × 10 = 1,600 cubic feet volume. 1,600 cu. ft. ÷ 8 ft. =

Help Before Black Friday Sales End!
There are some Black Friday [BF] deals already, but I think there may be more to come in the week leading up to Thanksgiving or BF. I would generally recommend Coway first. They're one of the highest quality consumer-grade brands. I think their larger and more powerful models may not be discounted y

Levoit Vital 200s is a very good one for bedroom. As it will give you excellent air quality for that size. Smaller but still good is Levoit Core 300. But the slightly bigger Vital 200, means you can run it on low and it will be quieter and still move more air. The Core 300 is rated for 1,000 sq. Fee

Best air purifier for allergies
If you want excellent coverage you probably want something rated for 3,000 sq. Ft. (6x air changes per hour x 500sq foot room size.) 6 ACH is excellent. 4 or 4.8 is "good" depending on the metric. So a Levoit Core 600 is rated for 3,000 and would be a great choice imo. Although if the bed room is 40

HEPA filter air purifiers
I use 4 Coway AP1512HH at home - one in each bedroom and one in the living room. The living room can probably use a bigger unit, but it's perfect for the bedroom. The oldest unit I had was bought in 2018, and the newest in 2021. So I've been using them for 5-8 years now, no problem at all with all o

Air purifier for bedrooms?
Per the AHAM 2/3 rule listed in the AutoModerator comment (and elsewhere in the subreddit wiki), a 200 sq. ft. room would need bare minimum CADRs of 134 CFM. A 400 sq. ft. room would need absolute minimum CADRs of 267 CFM. These calculations assume an 8 ft. ceiling. Higher CADRs may be needed for va

I've never owned an air purifier and I need help, Please!
Great, thank you. 😺 For wildfire smoke particles, AHAM recommends Smoke CADR should equal a room's area (assumes an 8 ft. ceiling). The 3,400 cu. ft. space needs a minimum Smoke CADR of 425 CFM. The 900 cu. ft. bedroom needs a minimum Smoke CADR of 113 CFM. The only single unit that could fulfill th

Help me choose the right air purifier for me!
Ditch the circular C610. It’s not great. Winix uses ionizers, which you don’t want, so if you go with a Winix you want to make sure you can switch it off. The downside to Winix and Coway is that they are loud on the higher settings, so you want to get a more powerful unit than you need for your spac

Help with a Coway model for ~425 sq ft studio?
Yep, ceiling height definitely matters as purifiers are sized by room volume. The assumed ceiling height is 8 ft. Examples are below. 425 sq. ft. with an 8 ft. ceiling: 425 sq. ft. ÷ 1.5 = 284 CFM minimum CADRs 425 sq. ft. with a 12 ft. ceiling must be calculated by volume first: 425 sq. ft. × 12 ft
