Momma | I feel lucky to have gotten this image after getting my first digital camera a month before
After four years of playing and learning with film photography, a trip to western Wyoming prompted me to buy and start to try and understand a Canon EOS RP as a budget-yet-capable mirrorless. I knew I wanted a long lens so the RF600MM f11 IS STM was a decent go-to. On day 2 into the trip, my friend

Seeking advice & maybe just conversation: sold my cameras & now I feel utterly DUMB. Has the market broken itself? Is the magic gone or is it just me?
I have no idea what you are talking about. go look on ebay. There are like a million used DSLRs for little money at every price point. You can get a really nice full frame sensor Canon for cheap these days - 5D variants, 6D variants. Even in mirrorless, R7s and R8s are pretty cheap and amazing camer

Totality from Maurice K Goddard State Park
I'm pretty proud of how my eclipse shots turned out.
Budget Canon mirrorless put in most of the work. I have some film to develop in different formats that I can eventually post if there's any interest (if they even turn out ok), but these were from a Canon EOS RP with an RF600MM f11 IS STM. Hope y

Help me choose a camera please
Any mirrorless from the big brands will work great. Focus peaking will just get you more keepers I guess. I prefer full frame for vintage glass; a lot of the interesting character is at the frame edges and gets cutoff on APS-C, for example Biotar swirl doesn’t show up as strongly in the cropped cent

Is there a camera in the $500 range that has automatic face-detection and autofocusing, an LCD screen that flips out and rotates, and rapid shot functionality similar to the Canon EOS RP?
I tried out my friend's Canon EOS RP the other day and really liked the automatic face-detection and autofocusing. I also liked the LCD screen that flips out and rotates, and the rapid shot functionality.
Is there a less expensive camera than the Canon EOS RP that still has the same features I

Recommendations on cameras good for skyline photography?
I only know Canon hardware (Sony or Nikon are fine, too) and I'd see if I could find a used full format, like R6 (MK I) or R8, perhaps even an older RP for that budget. Lenses are a different matter and might cost you more than the camera, although a relatively cheap do-it-all zoom like 24-105mm plu

Looking for used camera + lens under $600 recommendations
Option 1: Canon 6D or 5D Mark iii (often $400 or less used) and a Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 STM (around $100 used). These are some great dSLR bodies with beautiful imaging that still stands up today. Option 2: Save up a little more until around the end of the month for the Canon refurbished sale and pick

Just switched from Canon !
I spent the last two years with a Canon EOS RP. Honestly I got more and more frustrated by the erratic AF of the RP and the high price tag of Canon lenses. So two weeks ago I saw a Z 24-70 S on sale for nothing and I figured that I could get it + the Z6II for substantially less than the ”equivalent”
