Z6iii in a A7V World

You can get a refurb Z8 for new A7V money if you hunt the sales. Z6iii is much cheaper and still extremely good, if you don't need the pixels, the Z6iii is simply a better choice than the A7iv (in fact I'd argue the Z5ii is generally a better choice than the A7iv, having owned both) Despite the use

Canon adds a 32-megapixel sensor and 7K video to the new EOS R6 Mark III

I have good news on the first point, my friend: Canon isn't claiming any particular technological leaps with this sensor, but our initial testing shows that it has even faster readout speeds than the lower-resolution chip found in the EOS R6 II. The R6 III has some truly impressive rolling shutter r

Suggestion about possible alternatives to the Olympus E-M1 III

I have the em1ii with the 12-40f2.8 and the 40-150f2.8. I enjoy the system overall but recently decided to run a dual setup with canon r6iii paired with the 24-105 and 100-500. Honestly, I’m actually enjoying the canon a lot more. It isn’t as heavy as I’d feared and the IQ is incredible. I originall

Canon R6 III vs Nikon Z6 III

Go with the Z6III.R6III is the little bit better camera, it has better AF, more MPX, opengate video etc, but as you said, lenses are more expensive, and you cannot buy 3rd party lenses for RF mount. On the other hand, Z6III is great...AF is fast, 24mpx is more than enough, it has raw video, and you c

Double down on Canon while moving to interview filming from photography?

You have pretty great camera for docs really, and w24-70 is great too The main problem with canon is that it’s expensive not underperforming. Now if you wanted 2 more R6ii or r6iii and 3x24-70… it gets pricy. R5m1 is overheating but the rest is rather fine. I doubt 70-200 will be that useful but wit

Finally! Lesson learned! No more waiting for A7V or FX3 ll

Lol it's not you the A7IV and now A7V is much more detailed that the FX3 and that is definitely a reason to go with the A7V. I think the A7V is the better buy than the FX3 if you don't do/rely on the following: - Raw video of higher bitrate all-i codecs (A7V can still record ProRes to an external re

Newbie in sports photography. Budget is $2000 for gear. Interested in field and marathon shoots. Recommendations?

The Canon R6 II and Nikon Z6 III are good mid tier options. The Z6 III is newer with a faster partially stacked sensor. This reduces EVF blackout in continuous stills shooting & rolling shutter jello in video. The Canon R6 III is supposed to launch later this year depending on how quickly you're loo

Thinking of exchanging my new ZR

the ZR shoots in many other formats as well. before considering a camera like the A7iv, consider the sensor readout speed and if the rolling shutter it produces is going to be an issue for you or the much slower frame-rate. if so, you would need to go to the Nikon Z6iii, Canon R6iii, or Sony A7v.

Camera recommendation r6mkii or A7iv hybrid shooter

R6iii for hybrid. If you’re recording for long periods of time (30 minutes or longer) you need to use the standard 4k modes at 4k24-40. 4K50-60 overheats much faster. I use a silent snap in fan from Smallrig to record longer. Panasonic makes the best full frame hybrid cameras if you don’t want to ov

Nikon Z8 or Canon R6 III for video

The Z8 is the better video camera. Both shoot excellent 4K120, but the Z8 is more robust for video work because it has better sensor readout, higher-quality oversampled footage, and fewer compromises in modes like 4K120 and 8K recording. It also handles heat and long takes more confidently, and give
