Breville’s great, though most people here won’t recommend a machine with a built in grinder. That one comes with a Smart Grinder Pro, which is great for most bean types specially if you’re into Italian espresso/based drinks. You could go for a Bambino Plus and spend the rest ($600ish) on a much bett

I have had 3 Shardor grinders, 2 of them being the model shown, one being a replacement for a cheaper one, the third being a replacement for the second. The first 2 lasted less than 6 months in combined total, and the third showed signs of exhaustion on speciality coffees, at which point i moved up

You’ll get a bunch of recommendations for Baratza however Baratza is now owned by Breville. That makes it an immediate non-starter in my house. Plus, so plasticky. I bought myself a df64 gen 2 that I love. Coming from a Breville Smart Grinder Pro (which was a gift), the difference was massive. I mos

Keep the Bambino, buy a better grinder. Edit: additional information Consider what you want out of your espresso experience and how much time investment you're intending to put into things. A nicer espresso machine will have better temperature stability, likely because you're trading thermoblock for

Congrats on the machine. What did you get? First thing you will want to do is order a scale off of Amazon that measures in tenths of a gram, that will fit under your portafilter on a whatever cup you are dispensing into. These can range from $20 for generic to over $250 for an enthusiast level scale

Breville bought Baratza because they know their own grinders suck. Avoid the Smart Grinder Pro at all costs! ESP or ESP Pro are the way to go. Go Pro if you have the points or extra cash.

Breville bambino and SGP. I wouldn’t worry about the nitpickers, I have this setup and consistently outperform any of my local shops with delicious coffee every morning. The setup is solid and can be had for relatively cheap. I’m not convinced that the incremental gains beyond this setup are worth t

I think the most insane legit pairing I’ve seen in this sub was an ECM Synch with a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. I say “legit” because I refuse to acknowledge the Lelit Mara X and blade grinder pairing I once saw

For legit espresso you need two things: - A machine with a portafilter and a non pressurized filter. - A proper coffee grinder that is capable of fine enough. Plainly put, without a coffee grinder that can grind fine enough to build pressure on a non pressurized filter you cannot make a proper espre
