What is a lower income spending habit you’ll never give up no matter how financially secure/rich you get?

It's a $3500 machine. I got it direct from the supplier when they first came out at a discount. Kind of dreading it's eventual demise. https://www.breville.com/en-au/product/bes990

Soapy water after running a cleaning tablet cycle [Breville Oracle Touch]

The Breville Oracle touch has a cleaning cycle that is pretty foolproof. You put a tablet on this silicone cap that goes on the basket and then the cycle runs automatically. You can repeat the cycle without a tablet. In either case, it backflushes the system. Descaling is a whole separate process. T

Am I wrong when I say a lot of new technology isn't useful at all? If I'm not wrong then why is it being created then?

They work amazingly well actually. You probably just bought a crap machine. Pressure and flow of your home water system aren't relevant for an espresso machine. The interior boiler fills up with water while its on to some degree, or you can fill it manually. Espresso machines have their own boilers

Breville/Sage Oracle Jet big disappointment

That's not a high bar that you are shooting for. If it were me, I would: Check the brew water temperature to ensure it's within a couple of degrees of whatever it's set at. Put the backflush disc in, run a shot, and see if it sounds like the pump is producing high pressure throughout the cycle - it'

Bought Linea Micra for the wife… but I’m definitely the one using it the most 😂.

Yes it is! I love it but also don’t have much experience with stand alone grinders. My previous machine was an Breville Oracle Touch and it had the grinder integrated into the machine. I love that this one is a “single dose” machine but also has a small hopper. Adjusting the grind size is pretty eas

ECM Synchronika II - Is this counter space suitable?

I'm clearly biased, but I agree. LM looks nice, but I really dig the mechanical not-quite steampunk look of the classic e61 design. I also didn't like that LM traps settings behind an app that you have to connect. My ONLY complaint is that the clock runs fast... I just reset the clock every time I c

Feedback wanted

Came from a Breville Oracle touch - which is a BDB with a fancy interface for the most part. I've owned many machines from lever to superautos over the last ~30 years. No regrets except maybe where I bought it - I'd suggest Clive based on feedback/comments. The steam works just fine for me, it might

Breville Oracle Jet

Sorry to hear about your Oracle Touch. I’m hoping I don’t have issues with my new machine. My old analog Breville has worked without issues since I bought it 15 plus years ago!

Really depends on your budget but I personally rate the Breville machines. Oracle touch is what I’d choose if money was no object.

How reliable is Breville compared to other brands?

Owned our Oracle Touch maybe 4-5 years. In the last 6 months, I've been able to repair two issues from watching YouTube videos. Prior to that, problem free the whole time. One issue was the really loud obnoxious (electrical) noise (caused by leaking o ring that begins to short electrical connections
