Why is my shot squirting? [Breville Barista Pro]
The things others here are saying (puck prep, grinder, etc.) are certainly applicable, but a lesser known factor is pressure. A lot of Breville machines (aside from the Dual Boiler) have an issue where the pressure hitting the puck is far, far higher than the claimed 9 bar figure. The over-pressure

Stick with my Bambino or upgrade to Breville Barista Pro [$500]
Bambino to Breville Barista Pro is not an upgrade. Performance between these two machines would be virtually identical and you'd be losing the convenience of instant heat-up with the Bambino and its smaller footprint. Your issue is the pre-ground coffee you're putting into your machine. A Bambino pa

My Home Setup
Moving to a dual boiler made a huge difference. The quality of the steamed milk is night and day different and the consistency between shots is so much better. With the BBP, I was able to get fairly consistent shots on the first pull of the day but anything back to back struggled mightily. The touch

Please give me a reason NOT to buy a Breville Barista Pro
If you're going to buy a grinder, why pay for the grinder in the BBP you're not going to use, and have it take up counter space as well? If you like the workflow, get something like the Breville Infuser or something to go with a real grinder.

Will a Fellow Espresso 1 + Niche Zero get me where I want to go? [$2500]
I moved from Breville Barista Pro to ES1 and the steam wand performs so much better on the ES1. It's the thing I noticed first

(beginner) can’t decide between breville barista pro and breville bambino [$400]
A bambino + Df54 grinder is a pretty common recommendation on this sub. It’s what I have currently, I love it. My vote is to get the bambino then go buy a df54 for $200-250 and you’ll still be less than the pro. I’ve had a barista express and a barista pro, my biggest issue with both was the grinder

I went through an entire 12oz bag of local roasted beans trying to """dial them in"""
Yep. Welcome to the world of espresso. My only tips I can give are: Get an excellent grinder. Don’t ever use a built in grinder like you see on Breville barista Pro or you will be stuck dialing in forever. Always Do double shots when dialing in. I used to think single shot was ideal for dialing in t

Upgrade from 49-54mm machine to 58mm: regrets?
I upgraded from a breville barista pro to a 58.5mm Profitec move. It's amazingly more temperature stable, etc. I have had shots that are 2x as good as with my breville, but that's not likely driven by the portafilter size. The biggest difference IMO is that a lot of 58mm machines have better build q

Bought the 701/Pro but yet to unbox - not sure if I’ve made the right choice
I’ve had mine since Christmas and I’m obsessed with it. No prior experience with espresso and I make an iced or hot latte nearly every day, guests are constantly asking for me to make them too lol. I’ve made rich, classic, over ice (iced coffee) too and really enjoy them all. I do like the cold brew
