Stick with my Bambino or upgrade to Breville Barista Pro [$500]

Bambino to Breville Barista Pro is not an upgrade. Performance between these two machines would be virtually identical and you'd be losing the convenience of instant heat-up with the Bambino and its smaller footprint. Your issue is the pre-ground coffee you're putting into your machine. A Bambino pa

Is it time to throw in the towel? [$1000]

Five years out of a Barista Pro is about average. The 5-second shutoff is usually a failing solenoid valve or a clogged flow meter, and Breville repair costs often hit $150-250 which is hard to justify on a machine that may have other components aging out. At $1000, you're in a really good spot for

Bambino side-grade [$400]

There's really not a lot of consistency to be found in the temperature below PID machines. I would just be patient and spend the money on a worthwhile upgrade at the right time. I had a Breville Barista Pro for years until I saved enough for an Elizabeth, which was a dramatic upgrade that added a se

Breville / Sage to Micra - first thoughts

Does the longer heat up time bother you? I’m really tempted to switch from Breville Barista Pro to Meraki or LM Micra or Mini but the price tag seems insane for just better milk if I’m already happy with my shots. I pretty much just drink dark roast and milk based drinks so the espresso has been fin

Best espresso machine for one [under $1000]

I really would say away from the Smeg for the sole reason that they've had such bad QA over the years, have a high repair rate, high failure rate, and you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on something that doesn't last. For <$1,000 I've found myself consistently recommending my clients look a

I want a Cafelat but at this point, it may just be cheaper to get a machine...

Go for the robot. I had a sage barista pro and upgraded to the Cafelat robot. Zero regrets. Makes amazing espresso. It will last for years. I was fed up fixing issues with the Breville machines and long run you end up spending more with those machines

DeLonghi Dedica EC685 + Fellow Opus or Sage Barista Pro?

Integrated grinder of breville would not be an upgrade. Besides, if the grinder breaks on the barista pro, youd have just the espresso machine part in use. Waste of space. Dedica is okay, maybe the fuctuation is coming from the puck prep. Since its at 15bar of pressure, a slight variance on the puck

Please give me a reason NOT to buy a Breville Barista Pro

That’s way more expensive though. A Breville Bambino + Timemore Sculptor is going to cost a similar amount and give much better performance than the BBP.

Got this BBE for 140€, worth it?

Ah my bad, i thought BBP refers to barista pro, didn't realize it can also be bambino plus! Yea my thinking is since the pro has Baratza grinder, maybe it is better than the grinder in the express. But I'm not sure if there is really a difference since Breville owns Baratza anyway. And then addition
