Meine erste eigene Maschine!

Breville Barista Express Impress vs KitchenAid Semi-Automatic [$500–900]

Between the two of those, go with the Breville. KitchenAid is not a recommended brand on this sub. That said, all-in-one devices are generally not recommend here. You'd be better off going with a separate brewer/grinder, as it makes sure you don't have a half-functional machine when the built-in gri

espresso machine recommendations?

Bes870 is pretty bloody good, I wouldn’t touch Kogan (for any appliance). Breville all the way

Sage Barista Pro (built-in Baratza grinder) – worth upgrading to a separate grinder?

Ooowww, now this interesting! Seriously consider this before you decide! I have a profited go and a mignon sdp, and my good childhood friend, AND door to door neighbour (I live in an apartment building) has a breville barista express impress (the one with grinder and tamper). We decided to do some c

Breville / Sage to Micra - first thoughts

Sold my Breville (Sage) Barista Express Impress during the holiday season after caring for it for 2 years. Agree the inconsistency and lack of steam power was annoying. Great starter machine, though. I debated long and hard on going with single dose vs. hopper grinder. Finally went with a Mazzer Phi

Profitec Go vs El Rocio Manus? [$1200-$1700]

Manus S. I am using it and click of knob, I can change brew temperature, pre-infusion time, pressure and even has built in flow control (by pump). It’s not perfect machine but this is my endgame machine. Good enough for me. Yes. I want to control more precisely like wendougee data but the price…. It

1st gen opv broken!

Research BES870 safety valve. Breville calls this a safety valve rather than an OPV. Also, the new version is set to 9BAR rather than your broken ones 15BAR. The pressure gauge will now max out at '11 O'Clock'. Totally normal, less chance of channelling.

I’m just lost [500-1500k]

This is a sub of hobbyists with much higher standards than you have. You need to take the advice that actually applies to your goals. You don’t need an “excellent shot,” as defined by a hobbyist, you need to match coffee shop quality (which isn’t usually that great). Don’t over think it. I have a br

Trying to decide between the Express Impress or the Barista Pro

If you are coming from Nespresso one of the impress models may be better. While tamping on your own isn't hard it does take awhile to get used to. Additionally, tamping manually is a bit messier at times at invevitally you spill some grounds. Not a huge deal, but the self tamping machines avoid this
