Terrible question, unless you want to get sent down a rabbit hole, lol. A lot of people pick what sounds good to them, not what is considered accurate. If it wasn’t recorded with thick, wall shaking bass, then I don’t want to hear it even if it makes the recording sound 10x better. It’s like when pe

I made the same decision after testing both, side by side. The materials and build quality of the PX8 S2 are exceptional. I've owned most of B&W's over ear lineup, and these recent releases are by far their best to date. However, the decision came down to performance. The PX8 S2 is inarguably more c

I sold my XM6 in favour of the Px8 S2. I was forever in the EQ trying to make it not sound like a muddy mess. If sound quality is what you're after then absolutely go for it. The B&W are bassy, like the XM6, but they also carry detail, and the bass is a lot tighter. Px7 S3 or PX8 S2 depending on bud

How I hear the Px8 S2 compared to Px7 S3, Px8 S2 has a more colored and warmer sound signature tuning with its elevated mid bass, while maintaining clarity and details, and wider soundstage than OG Px8. Depending on the genre of music you listen to, the elevated lower mids can muddy instrument separ

I owned both sets and kept the PX7 S3. The ANC in the PX8 S2 certainly isn’t terrible and is roughly on par with the HDB 630s; but the tangible improvement to ANC and transparency that the PX7 S3 brings to the table compared to the marginal improvement in sound quality the PX8 S2 provides made the P

Better than the new B&W Px7 S3. Bought that because of newer tech: AptX Lossless + LE Audio-Auracast in future upgrades. But the ANC does not match the M4. Also M4 sound better to me, they offer a more pleasant and spacious soundstage. Px7 S3 reveal finer detail (probably for the better codec) but t

Interesting and thorough review, thanks for sharing. My poste below is not to counter yours, I actually loved it, I just wanted to share my experience as a "newbie" to B&W, as I've been, and still am a SONY guy in many of my A/V equipment. Your experience seems to be the opposite of my experience co

I think I know what OP‘s referring to. The PX8 have a rather intimate „dark“ sound signature which can easily make songs sound less existing and more closed in. They are indeed detailed sounding headphones and have an instinct clearness to them I can’t quite place but the bass bleeds too much into t

I completely agree with you, the B&W headphones have a much slimmer and more discreet design. Sound quality is obviously subjective, but in my experience the Px7 S2e and S3 are far less compelling than the P100SE (I haven’t had the chance to try the P100). The soundstage is noticeably smaller and th

Not the looks deceive you.... Remember, the new Px8 s2 has the same carbon cone driver which is one kind of drivers B&W only use on their high end speakers... They tried to implement this carbon cone on the Px8 and that was exceptional imo. I had chance to listen to Px8 a month ago... I must say, th
