Smart Soundbar 900

Went to buy two of these and found they won't work with my Soundbar 900. Not buying a new, slightly updated Soundbar for $1,100 on top of it so no sale for BOSE. As a guy who owns a lot of BOSE items, I'm really getting annoyed that nothing works together.

Nope, I am done with Bose. Bought a Soundbar 900 plus a Sub 700 a while ago and was waiting for more up to date satellites than the garbage 700. Now everything is not backward compatible anymore. I am looking for another brand to replace the mentioned stuff.

I would’ve ordered a pair of these this morning if they were compatible with my soundbar 900. I hope Bose gets roasted for this.

Nope and the new surrounds and sub aren't wirelessly compatible with the 700, 900 or Ultra soundbar. I bought a soundbar 900 and bass module 700 with hopes that I could add atmos capable surrounds, but it ain't going to happen. It's annoying, but I just switch my Blu Ray player to LPCM output and can use my Bose soundbar 900 with DTS discs.

I tried and returned them. They sound thin/anemic, even if you can get the volume up to a desirable level. You’re right, “ignores metadata” was sloppy phrasing. The accurate version: AVSBAR forces raw bitstream passthrough and can’t do the MAT-LPCM transcoding hop that eARC soundbars require. EAC3+JOC straight to an AVR over HDMI works fine via AVSBAR, as does HomePod over wireless. Sonos Arc, Samsung HW

I have had best results with option 4. But one thing "random" (quotes intentional!) Is that off and on I get no sound with startup and have to go into the Bose app, pick the soundbar, and then the Inputs... and have to manually reselect the TV option. There is no good reason for this as I hadn't use

I just got here to ask the same question. Sony Bravia TV, Bose 900 soundbar. Apple TV 4K. High speed 8K HDMI cable connected to eARC on Sony TV. Soundbar doesn’t turn on properly when I turn the setup on with Apple TV remote. Or it turns on a few seconds later, making the TV & the Apple TV restart.
