Palma 2 Pro

I started with a nook, second hand, that crapped out after a year or so. Then came the kindle. I hated being locked into the Amazon ecosystem so I got a boox Palma 2. I loved it, but was scared to lose or damage it so it stays home. So I get an xteink x4 for taking on the town and it’s great! Finall

Xteink x4 — IF you have DRM-free book files and don’t need a front light. No touchscreen or other apps. Has buttons. Very tiny but yet very readable as long as you can handle like around maybe 20 point font and below. Boox Palma 2– can run apps like kobo and kindle, as well as take DRM-free files. T

Unfortunately even putting the Palma in your pocket (I’m assuming it was your pants pocket) can cause pressure to be applied to the screen or bend the device enough to crack the screen. You can try eink phones like Bigme Hibreak Pro. There are black and white and colour versions. Also Onyx Boox Palma 2 Pro can be used to make calls after an update.

If a device is pocketable, then it is too small to read PDFs on it. The closest compromise is an 8" device like the Viwoods Mini or the Supernote Nomad. You can read/annotate PDFs and write on them, and they will fit in a coat pocket. A little cramped, though. The only truly pocketable e-ink devices

I believe they are discontinuing it to push Palma 2 Pro sales. Boox tends to do that.
