Best e-ink tablet for heavy book PDF reading in a PhD?

  1. PDF handling — clean rendering, easy navigation, no fighting the device Boox and NeoReader is going to be best at this, e.g. it's very good at reflowing PDFs. 3. Annotation and highlighting — needs to work smoothly, and I would like to get highlights/notes out in a usable format. same for this. 4. Z

It's time to check the competition

I'm not quite at the point of leaving RM altogether, but I will agree that colored e-ink just doesn't seem like it's a very reliable point in its development. Having both the RM2 and RMPP (and using both regularly), it definitely seems like monochrome e-ink is the more robust of the two. Makes me wi

I want an ereader with alarge screen. Any suggestions on brand and model?

BOOX note max has a large clear screen and their Neoreadwr is awesome. Not sure about the dictionaries but they run on android.

StarNote app is by Onyx international ie related to Boox!?!

So I gave it a few minutes' test drive, and found a few things. Nothing that can't be debugged and cleaned up, if the Devs really wanted to. It's not ready for a public announcement that "It's compatible, hooray!" yet, but it's better than anything we've ever had. Notebooks created in Notes, exporte

my one page review of writing on the Go 10.3 Gen II

Well, I wish they implemented this on Palma 2 Pro. It might become a very good opponent to the RMPPM with this. Honestly, I didn't even consider buying it, but after each reviews I see, I keen to buy it. If I had seen this device earlier this year, I may not have even bought the Kindle Scribe 2025 (

If you had unlimited money, which would you buy?

Boox fanboys/company employees are a strange bunch. The company is absolutely dodgy shipping untested hardware at launch e.g 5AC and then abandoning it until they release a new iteration the following year. There is no long term support. Boox Note Max a year after launch still has major ghosting and

Cons or downsides to owning Boox

I'd say it depends entirely on your use cases and the models you are looking at. There are 12 current models of BOOX devices, which vary greatly in screen tech, size, stylus capabilities (capactive vs EMR vs USI), screen coatings, storage, and power. Trying to paint that variety with a single brush

Worried about buying the Note Max

"unprovoked screen breaks" most often means somebody didn't realize that these devices (for the most part) are thin stacks of glass wrapped in aluminum and if you bend them, or apply uneven pressure to the screen, the glass substrates will crack. And, yes, broken screens are not covered by warranty

Best e-reader for a multi-column book?

You need size. 10 inches might work, but personally 13.3" like the Boox tab xc or the Boox note max would be a significantly better experience. If you can, scaling a printed copy of a page to the dimensions of whatever screen size you're looking at is your best way to get an idea of how well it will

Looking for a large-screen e-ink device with the best writing experience (paper replacement)

College student here, bought a Boox Note Max and Supernote Manta at the same time, my priority was note taking and reading pdf’s. I was using an iPad at first but the eye fatigue was getting so bad I could only write on the iPad for a max of 2hrs at a time. Since I already had a workflow with the iP
