I am a noob - can I update my own PC?

As far as I can see, the old motherboard requires DDR4 RAM, so you can just reuse it. For gaming performance, the CPU is much less import than the GPU. You could replace the 5700X with the 5600X or 5600 if needed for budget reasons. The NV3 often uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes

First time PC build from a laptop user - white/cute theme, UK, £1700 max

The Legend 860 uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years. A better drive with TLC flash would be, e.g., the Timetec 35TTFP6PCIE, Integral M2, MSI Spatium M560, or Biwin Black Opal NV7400.

My first ever build - Aiming for 1440P

The Crucial P310 uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years. Gen3 would not make any difference in practice, but if you want a Gen4 drive, at least get a better drive with TLC flash like the Samsung 990 EVO Plus, Biwin Black Opal NV7400, Crucial T500, or

ITX Build with GTX 1080 TI

The NV3 often uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years. Get a better drive with TLC flash like the Gigabyte Aorus Gen4, Patriot VP4300 Lite/P400 Lite, Biwin Black Opal NV7400, or Kioxia Exceria Pro.

i need advice on this build

The 9600X is faster than the 7700X at a lower price. (Faster cores beat more cores.) An AiO is not necessary. The Fera is quite silent. The TUF motherboard allows PCIe 5.0 on the GPU slot. (Not that it makes much of a difference in practice.) Samsung is overpriced; the NV7400 has the same performanc

If anyone needs a 2k PC this is prob the best one for 2026 roast me in the replies if you hate it

The UD90 is just as bad as the NV3. Some good drives with TLC flash would be, e.g., the Patriot P400 Lite/VP4300 Lite, Timetec 35TTFP6PCIE, Biwin Black Opal NV7400, or WD Blue SN5000.

Rate or Advice on build

The 9800X3D can be easily cooled with a single-tower cooler. To get silence, use a dual-tower cooler like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit. The NV3 often uses QLC flash, which has low durability and becomes noticeably slower after a few years. Get a better drive with TLC flash like the Seagate FireCu

DDR4 AM4 build in 2026

It's decent. Only thing I'd change on the parts you aren't reusing is the Nvme. Look for a TLC drive for better performance and longevity. This one is $10 cheaper (if it's actually in stock) - https://it.pcpartpicker.com/product/BmQwrH/biwin-black-opal-nv7400-1-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state
