Streaming Headphones

under 250 theres a few routes you can go depending on whether you want open back for better gaming audio or closed back to avoid mic bleed. open back options like beyerdynamic dt 900 pro x and sennheiser hd560s are really good for fps footsteps and wide soundstage. both run fine without an amp but y

Headphones to wear?

Long time I used Bose QC35 II with(!) cable attached, to mix and master. That was kind of fine. But affordable are these not, but I had them lying around anyway. Later I invested in (actually cheaper) Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro X, which are open and quite comfortable to wear. My Laptops internal soundca

Headphone query - looking for open back to use with my DP

I would recommend the Beyerdynamic DT900 pro-X instead. [EDIT] Sorry I answered a bit quickly because I was in the middle of something else, my bad. I was in your shoes a few weeks ago and was looking at the same products and asking myself the same questions, so it’s just my personal experience. I w

Questions & Recommendations for My First Beyerdynamic (DT 700 Pro X)

I just got them as well (the open back 900 version). The ear cups are very very comfortable, the material is quite fluffy (more so than the 770/990 models) so with the closed back version I would expect a little bit of heat buildup but I doubt it's an issue since the cups are quite large, also proba

Comfortable headphones for in-headphone mixing?

In over-ear headphones, there's the choice between open and closed back.If your intention is to just play to yourself, keeping the headphones on continuously I would suggest an open-back studio headphone. But some of these studio headphones require a headphone out with higher impedance, which DJ mix

Postrock Audiophiles, what headphones are you rocking?

I strongly recommend open-back rather than closed. Open-backs are in a league of their own I bought the Beyerdynamic DT990s (open) and the Sennheiser HD300s (closed) at the same time when I was first doing the same thing you are (though from the perspective of a producer rather than just a listener)

dt990 pro 80ohm vs dt990 pro x for progressive metal

I would suggest the DT900 Pro X. It has a fuller bass and more neutral mids and treble compared to the DT990 Pro X - the 990 Pro X would sound both leaner and brighter compared to the 900 Pro X. However, I prefer the headband design of 990 Pro X to the 900 Pro X. One might like the earpads of 990 se

Major difference between these two?

Honestly for those prices, I’d opt for a decent pair of wired headphones instead. Edition XS, FT1, HD600, DT900 Pro X, etc are all in that price range and need minimal power to run. I’ve had my fair share of Razer products, their audio gear is okay, but there’s a ton of better options for the price.
