I couldn't tell apart my Sony Xperia 5III, iPod classic 7th gen, Fiio m3k, HiFi Walker H2, Beyerdynamic Pro X USB-C Cable/DAC, my pc, my HiFi receiver (Onkyo TX 8020) playing the same audio (flac) except my phone and pc have more output power than my iPod, and my HiFi receiver got even more output p

It all depends on what you're plugging it into. If you've got a dedicated dac/amp etc. etc. then the ones you have suggested are a good shout. However for a sort of plug into anything solution I've always thought the Sony flagship mode whxxxxx whatever they're called are very excellent. You can cont

For a long time I was always

I use Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro, driven by Schiit Magni+Modi stack. I am very fond of these headphones, they give amazing detail and resolution. However, they can be quite sharp sounding due to the infamous "Beyerpeak" - essentially, they are quite harsh in the treble department. I find it great for
