Is Windows 11 really that bad for running Plex with the arr suite and Docker?
Windows will work perfectly fine on the Beelink. In fact, I ran Win11 on my Dad's Beelink S12 Pro for a couple of years. I also ran PMS on Windows for awhile as well. The problem is (for me) the random updates that FORCE reboots and, since I refuse to create a Microsoft account, the "create your Mic

What's Wrong with a Basic Plex Server Install on Windows
Nothing wrong at all. I still have the windows that came installed on beelink s12 pro mini PC. Lots of posts here on how to use Linux and/or dockers I got none of that. Ars and Plex installed on windows. Works beautifully.

Minimum requirements for 4k transcoding?
4 core is fine yes. Something like this is a popular solution due to power draw and ability to transcode: https://www.bee-link.com/products/beelink-mini-s12-pro-n100 I use a Terramaster USB C DAS. No need to buy a GPU, Quick Sync can handle the transcoding. I have mine set up to use RAM disk, so fil

QuickSync vs dedicated GPU for transcoding, is the quality difference actually noticeable
My Plex/Jellyfin media server is a cheap $150 BeeLink S12 Pro mini pc sitting in a shelf in a rack with $1000s of dollars of Supermicro and Dell servers. ððĪŠ I get a kick out of it every time I see it sitting there. There are at least 11 music streams and 1 4K stream running 24/7. I can stream anothe

Best OS to host your Plex server in 2025?
Im comfortable with windows so I recently set up my Plex server on a Beelink S12 pro with windows 11. Frankly, it just works. No need for research, trouble-shooting or anything. Also got Plex pass and hw transcoding again, just works. Tested locally with an LG TV app, remotely on my android phone an

Can't decide between Beelink SER9 mini PC vs gaming desktop â need advice (7 year plan)
Although I do have a Beelink S12 pro for about 15 months now and it works flawlessly, the general "feel," one gets when reading on Reddit is that all these ( any brand, not Beelink in particular) mini pcs are not famous for their longevity ( fingers crossed for mine ). If you are after longevity I t

Those of you who use a Beelink, which one is best?
Beelink S12 Pro will do 4K no problem. Can also transcode 4k to 1080p with about 5-6 streams at a time maybe more but I haven't got that many. There are other brands with very similar configurations, the main thing you want to look for is the N100 CPU this is one of the most common for Plex Servers.
