Be patient, making great espresso is not easy. You need a combination of good beans, grinder, water, machine and technique. It's fun if you like the hobby though! Get the best grinder you can afford. I’d totally change the grinder if I had to do that. I’m happy with my very old baratza sette 270. IMO its only downside is that it’s loud.

My trusty Baratza Sette 270 may be loud af, but 5 years of heavy daily use and has yet needed any parts replaced or any cleaning beyond blue bean pills once a month.
