Baratza Encore ESP Pro vs Turin DF54 V2/V3 [$250-$300]

Both are excellent options, so whichever one is right for you really depends on your taste preferences, preferred looks and ideal workflow. If you tend to switch between coffees often, mostly drink 'modern style' espresso and don't mind single dosing; the DF54 is probably going to be the best option

Dumb Grinder Question - Single Dose Setups

The Baratza Encore ESP Pro, which I have, can be used as a single dose or hopper machine. It comes with a removable hopper, and you can set it to a timed-grind mode where it will grind for whatever time you set it for (presumably to get the dose you want). In single-dose mode, you remove the hopper

I took some people’s advice & got the bambino & a grinder!! I’ve never made espresso before, can you tell me the tips & tricks or direct me to where I can watch videos? Ty!!

There are three encores. The original Encore (classic) which isn't great for espresso from what I've read. It may be quieter though. It has Baratza written down the side and at the base. It starts at about 150. The Encore ESP is 200, and has Baratza written near the hopper. Otherwise it looks simila

New to this - help me choose a machine + grinder [$1,000]

Lelit anna is on sale for $480 in the US. It's a single boiler with a built-in PID. 57mm is a weird portafilter size, but normcore makes all the important accessories for that size (and you'll need a better tamp than the included one). Leaves you $400 to get a grinder. Baratza encore esp or esp pro

DF54 workflow question [$500 budget]

The df54 is a great budget grinder but not a good beginner grinder in my opinion. Its workflow is rather involved, it has terrible qc and you might have to shim the burrs to get the best out of it. Get a Baratza Encore ESP pro or something similar with better customer support and a few qol functions

My small coffee station

Bro spend some more and purchase timemore c5 esp pro. It is the best entry level manual espresso grinder which has 0.15microns per step for dialing in and you will get the best results with non pressurized basket. And it takes hardly 1.5 min to grind for espresso fine grind. Or else go for Baratza e

Hopper style grinder to pair with my Breville Bambino [$350]

The Baratza Encore ESP Pro, at US$300. For batch hopper use or single-dosing. An enhanced version of the Encore ESP, with 2.2-micron display grind steps (essentially, stepless in practice), an ionizer for fluffy grounds, a timer and auto shut-off, a grounds light, and enhanced styling. A nice review

Grinder with granular stepped adjustments that transitions well between espresso and drip? [$300]

I really like my Baratza Encore ESP Pro. I use for everything from Moka pot to pour over and aeropress to espresso. I LOVE being able to simply turn the collar to get to the number I want. I find it easy to use and clean. I did buy a small bellows for the single-dose hopper, but you could use the ho

Thoughts on the Baratza Encounter esp Pro? Is it worth it? [$300]

The Encore ESP Pro is a nice enhanced version of the Encore ESP. Note: the flavor profile is the same--the ESP Pro uses the same burrs as the ESP, and one should expect the same flavor between the 2 grinders, as a general matter. The biggest value is the ESP Pro's 2.2-micron display grind steps, as

Should I go another direction?

Personally I did. It seems like quality control issues to me, so many complaints. Then so many “no issues”. It is a fantastic grinder no doubt, but I went with another in similar price range. In James Hoffmann’s review of grinders around this price point he felt df54 was still ahead. But not a lot i
