Tinny NAS with ssd and hdd?
ASUSTOR AS5404T has 4 PCIe 3.0x1 NVMe slots (3.0x1 is plenty for twin 2.5GbE network) and 4 3.5" SATA HDD bays. It's a nice compact unit, works well. I've had one for a while and am very happy with it. I use 2 of the NVMe slots for the OS and volume1, and the other 2 for a cache in front of my IronW

Have a just shot myself in the foot??
Honestly, it's a pre-built NAS (ASUSTOR AS5404T) I did look a building a custom NAS, but it's hard to get close to 4 SATA Drives & 4 M.2 drives in a tidy enclosure for anything close to the same price point. (Even looking at a jonsbo N2 with the same CPU ended up costing more).
