Switched from 165Hz TN to 240Hz IPS... input lag??
Welcome to ips or fast ips panel. Did the same swap back in 2020 going from a AOC TN 144 to Asus 280hz ips vg279qm. Theres more blur and input lag since then, and this asus was one of the best at the time. Im just waiting for this to give up to upgrade for oled or zowie tn.

VG27AQM5A /L5A Viewing Angle PSA
Mine is doing the same thing too! I think you're right. Its either a bad batch or bad model line. I have the VG279QM and it doesn't have that issue. I just made a post about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/1ri8mqp/asus_ips_display_issue_weird_film_like_effect/

My wip Battlestation
It's the Asus tuf vg279: https://a.co/d/cyY1IZM Honestly though, I would go with the miniled monitors from ktc if they were out when I bought these. They have similar refresh rates 240hz miniled vs 280 (when over clocked) for the vg279. Ktc miniled link: https://a.co/d/0xS6IuG However, the miniled p

The AOC Q27G4ZMN 240hz QHD 1152 zone Mini-Led monitor is for sale in the US market now
Just tried both the new AOC 280hz 1080p VA (130% SRGB or something) and MSI 280hz one (102% SRGB)) and both have more eye strain the older VA from Samsung (Odyssey G3). I think I saw a review of one of these in Chinese where they measured something like 4% brightness modulation on the backlight. A g

Asus IPS display issue? Weird film like effect. VG279QML5A
If it’s the same as VG279Q, it’s, according to DisplaySpecifications, based on a 6-bit panel with worst color reproduction possible (64-times less colors than on 8-bit panels, pseudo-8-bit is achieved with FRC which is either flickering or dithering). VG279QM uses a true 8-bit panel.

My experience trying OLED after IPS
What about response time/ghosting for gaming something like CS2? Im about to leave the old loved one VG279QM 280hz to any oled 480hz+ but im not so sure, people say OLED dont have ghosting but still have blur (persistent blur irrc) and this old asus dont have ghosting but blur. ELMB is good but the
