Welcome to ips or fast ips panel. Did the same swap back in 2020 going from a AOC TN 144 to Asus 280hz ips vg279qm. Theres more blur and input lag since then, and this asus was one of the best at the time. Im just waiting for this to give up to upgrade for oled or zowie tn.

Thanks man! ASUS TUF VG279QM 27’ 1080p. Would recommend so far. I used to use an Alienware 500hz monitor that crapped out on me after just a year of using it & only using it at 240. I’ve only had good lasting experiences with ASUS.

Mine is doing the same thing too! I think you're right. Its either a bad batch or bad model line. I have the VG279QM and it doesn't have that issue. I just made a post about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/1ri8mqp/asus_ips_display_issue_weird_film_like_effect/

It's the Asus tuf vg279: https://a.co/d/cyY1IZM Honestly though, I would go with the miniled monitors from ktc if they were out when I bought these. They have similar refresh rates 240hz miniled vs 280 (when over clocked) for the vg279. Ktc miniled link: https://a.co/d/0xS6IuG However, the miniled p

Just tried both the new AOC 280hz 1080p VA (130% SRGB or something) and MSI 280hz one (102% SRGB)) and both have more eye strain the older VA from Samsung (Odyssey G3). I think I saw a review of one of these in Chinese where they measured something like 4% brightness modulation on the backlight. A g

Solid build. A couple changes but not many. You can get a better monitor than the msi. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x9Q9db Monitor review: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/asus/vg279qm

2 ASUS TUF Gaming VG279QM. Very nice monitors, I was gonna use my main one at 240Hz but I kind of just got use to 144Hz again. 27 inches is perfect for gaming monitors, anything more is too much real estate. I couldn't recommend 27 enough.

i feel you on that. had the same thing happen with a different gigabyte panel and was surprised how bad the angles were. if you're set on 240hz for smoothness, the asus vg279qm has better ips glow control and viewing angles. i run it vertical next to my oled and the colors hold up way better. worth
