Check your brightness settings - I have the predecessor to your monitors, the VG27AQ, and the backlight bleed is definitely reduced at lower brightness levels. Plus make sure you have HDR turned off, this monitor line has really crappy HDR.

Asus VG27AQ is what I use and I have had no complaints. I bought it over two years ago so there might be something better by now.

This is my old ASUS VG27AQ to compare, with 1250:1 contrast ratio. The room has more light so it should look better than the KTC, but clearly it's no competition at all. As I said, IPS panels from 2024-2025 are MILES away from the pre-2023 ones.

my gigabyte m32u might not be on par with the good quality ips of 2025 but it’s definitely better of what 8/10 gamers in the world are gaming with It's better in resolution, ergonomics, colors.. Just not in contrast ratio. A 2014 720p cheap and old VA TV will have better contrasts (and blacks) than
