New forced contract on ASUS router - give us all your personal information

I just checked SNBforums and found no one else mentioning it. I wouldn’t worry about it. You may want to consider upgrading to Merlin. It tends to be better performing firmware than ASUS official firmware, IMO. All that being said, I’ve been disappointed in my RT-BE86U since I replaced my dying RT-A

Give me the good/bad/ugly on the Asus RT-BE86U

I replaced my ancient AC-68U with an ASUS RT-BE86U and in the mean time, sent it back. Either for repair or for a refund. For a device that is about 12 years newer, it was just awful. It was actually worse than the old Asus router: Many devices often lost the connection (tables, raspis, phones, tvs,

Asus RT-BE86U problems

Just got RT-BE86U and I had to disable the 160Mhz and DFS or it was dropping out many times a day. Probably a local interference problem. Also had to use the _IoT for quite a few devices that didn't really like the wifi7.

Does Asus RT-BE86U have issues with 2.4 GHz WiFi?

Could you improve the situation? I got an RT-BE86U as well and the range and reliability is a joke, my 12 year old previous Asus router is faster, more reliable and has almost double the range.

I would recommend just avoiding the official 3.0.0.6 (or Merlin 3006) firmwares for now if you intend to use AI Mesh and/or Guest Network Pro and enjoy your sanity.

I was just asking myself if I should upgrade my office ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (with AC86U AiMesh node) from 3004 to 3006. They worked flawless for many years on 3004. At home, I am already running 3006, also with AiMesh (RT-BE92U with BE86U AiMesh node). However, I can confirm that there I experience the

YouSee hævder at have markedets kraftigste router.

Asus RT-BE88U strange network dropouts

DI’d you ever track down the root cause of the freezes? I just got a used RT-BE86U but it has a return period, not sure I want to risk keeping it now.

Asus RT-BE88U strange network dropouts

Nope, I never got to the bottom of the issue. I spent over $800 on this router and it's absolute rubbish, idiot me threw out the box too so now I can't return it. I have discovered that it doesn't like some websites, like if I open Aliexpress my network instantly crashes and also crashes if I run qb

Minimal possible latency

u/grill2010 I got the new router (Asus RT-BE86U) and tested it. Latency is playable only if I select VAAPI + vulkan renderer and disable vsync, but frame pacing is all over the place in that case. Can I do something about it? Also is it normal to have persistent microstutters, even in vsynced scenar
