New forced contract on ASUS router - give us all your personal information

Bad advice. Asus routers are actually amazing products, and enhancing it with merlin firmware make it the best routers you can buy, in my humble opinion. I've only ever had 2 Asus routers, one i bought in 2013 (AC68U), which lasted until they discontinued it in March 2024. And I bought the replaceme

14,000 routers are infected by malware that's highly resistant to takedowns - Ars Technica

I've had to replace the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (AX5700) Dual Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router twice at one location for odd behavior that I couldn't get rid of after being used for a few months. It was being used strictly as an Wifi AP behind a different brand firewall but it wouldn't let any of the

Greenlight!

When I got Greenlight four years ago you had to buy your own router. I bought a Asus RT-AX86U and nearly choked on the price, But it has been worth the money. It has been very reliable, can handle the speed, has great WiFi range and has lots of really useful features that cheaper routers don’t have.

What are some good WiFi 6 routers at the moment?

Love my Asus RT-AX86U Pro. I have a 2 story house with a basement and the router is in the basement. I get full coverage everywhere. Has never been an issue whatsoever. Check out the reviews.

Vegas, come see what GFiber internet is all about!

I currently have the Asus RT-AX86U. It's a few years old but it's rock solid. I had a Netgear Nighthawk before. It just wasn't good enough

Finally got own router installed and ditched Hub Pro

A lot of youfibre customers could do themselves a massive favour by simply ditching the supplied router, as they are barely adequate. Middling performance. I have two ASUS RT-AX86U Pro, for full house coverage, and they perform flawlessly.

Good home router's with long term security support?

I have had the ASUS 86U routers for more than a decade. I’d still be using the first one if it wasn’t for lightning. The replacement router an RT-AX86U Pro has been in operation for a couple of years now and I use Asuswrt-Merlin firmware rather than ASUS. Asuswrt-Merlin updates firmware components m

Should I get a Tri Band router?

I recently upgraded from a RT-AX86U (basically the WiFi 6 version of your router), and I purchased 2 x RT-BE92U, one as a router and one configured as a separate access point. The primary reason for the upgrade was to get access to the 6GHz band for a Quest 3 VR headset. Playing PCVR games via WiFi

Hey everyone I need advice and opinions

On paper AC1900 should handle that device load, but the R6900v2 also seems to have a history of disconnect and stability complaints. So I wouldn’t assume it’s performing well just because the specs look fine. With a $200 budget, I’d honestly look for a used Asus RT-AX86U on eBay. That’s a much bette

Will buying 3rd party router help

I have been using an Asus RT-AX86U without bridge mode, 3 years with PLDT fibr and 2 years and counting with Globe fiber with zero issues. I think there is a affordable TP-Link Wifi 7 router being sold in Lazada in Shopee.
