Bad advice. Asus routers are actually amazing products, and enhancing it with merlin firmware make it the best routers you can buy, in my humble opinion. I've only ever had 2 Asus routers, one i bought in 2013 (AC68U), which lasted until they discontinued it in March 2024. And I bought the replaceme

The AC68u was/is a router I encountered a lot where I live. Recommended that thing to so many people too.

The Flex 2.5G PoE + AC Adapter 210W would be the better match Exactly the conclusion I came to last month. Seemed like this is the time to go 2.5gb equipment so I'm not replacing again in a couple years. Hoping what I bought lasts ~10 years like my last AC68U did.

What ASUS is so old it doesn't support VLAN tagging? The RT-AC68U from 2013 does I know. And even that model is EoL and should be replaced. It's under LAN - IPTV on ones with firmware before 3.0.0.6 Only one device can do the VLAN tag, so the 2nd router should be set in access point mode connected w

I'd been using it for over 10 years, it served me so well. Just tonight my unit stopped working...FYI they still update the firmware, the last one dated 2025/10/27, very recent:https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rtac68u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RTAC68U Other m

OP I'm experiencing a different issue but only on Apple hardware. Recently upgraded from Asus RT-AC68U to ASUS RT-BE88U to support my new fibre connection. Always ran Merlin firmware on them too. With the new ASUS RT-BE88U the Apple devices seem to connect fine, but after long periods on no use they

I replaced my ancient AC-68U with an ASUS RT-BE86U and in the mean time, sent it back. Either for repair or for a refund. For a device that is about 12 years newer, it was just awful. It was actually worse than the old Asus router: Many devices often lost the connection (tables, raspis, phones, tvs,
