New Ally X Owner – Tweaked a ton but still feels like I’m missing FPS juice?
Yup! Had a ROG strix G16 with 4070. Debated if I wanted to upgrade it or go with an ally X. Due to 1080p, lower fps, and lower graphics settings I went with a ROG strix G18 with 5080. It looks amazing on the bigger screen and is a beast but I liked the size of the G16 more I think. Both gaming lapto

Since updating my laptop to Windows 11 25 H2, I have experienced numerous issues
I have the i9 14900hx with the 4060 asus g18 so very close to yours. I think you need to install a fresh copy of windows. Or use a windows image to repair it at least, if you want to keep your files but I would reinstall from scratch if I was you. Three minutes to open an app with that cpu? No way.

Done with windows
I have an Asus ROG Strix G18 AMd/Nvidia setup with hybrid graphics. I've been using Pop for about a week now and so far so good. Co-Pilot talked me off a cliff trying to get my AMD's P-states active with Pop_OS's CPU governor (still cannot achieve this due to kernel scheduler conflicts). System76 ha

Petition: Bring Back the Gapped Keyboard on the Dell XPS / Dell Premier Series
I bought multiple Dell workstation laptops, fully spec'd, and loved them. But the keyboard and touchpad have been absolute deal breakers for me now. The touchpad lost its buttons, top and bottom row of 3 buttons. I NEED a middle button, and I want a left click right click button not a stupid flat pi

Transitioning to Linux. Struggling
I have an Asus ROG Strix G18 (2025) laptop (AMD CPU&iGPU/NVIDIA5060dGPU) and also hated Windows because of Asus. I got rid of all the Asus bloat and replaced it with G-helper which instantly made the experience better. That being said, Windows updates and Driver snaffus between AMD AND Nvidia caused

Mux switch and asusctl
Bruh same boat as you kinda except Garuda was the distro that kept my RGB working from whatever Windows sets. Asus ROG Strix G18 (2025) AMD/Nvidia5060. I'm glad you made this post tho. Just learned about ghelper for Linux and that's hopefully exactly what I want to help with the games slamming up th

‘Security Disaster’—500 Million Microsoft Users Say No To Windows 11
Fuck microshit and fuck the disaster that is win 11. I still run 10 on the desktop. But I bought a laptop last year for travel, a rog strix g18 2024 version with 32gigs of ram and a 4070. I was told by Asus I could have windows 10 on it but itd run poorly so I should get 11 instead. Okai. Man fuck t

Laptop for mech e student 2000-2500 budget
They are both good gaming laptops... I own a gen 8 Pro 7i with an i9 and a 4080, it's been a great laptop for almost 3 years without a single problem. A similar Strix will cost a couple hundred more than the Legion, but the toolless design on the Intel models is nice, cleaning the fans would be much

Nothing like buying the top tier mac book at around the same price for significantly less power than buying something like a 2025 asus G18
