Did I take the wrong car??

If you do any kind of photo, video, or design work, the Studio Display is tough to beat in absolute terms. The ASUS ProArt is definitely far better value, but if you’ve got the budget for a Studio it’s an excellent product.

Using iPad Pro as a reference monitor for DaVinci Resolve — best connection method?

Absolutely Remote Monitor. But honestly, if you want a reasonably accurate clean feed, get an Eizo CS/Asus ProArt and a Decklink. That's not, what an iPad is.

From iMac 27 to MacMini

Doesnt sound to me like you need a studio or mac mini pro based on the workload you presented. Since you have come from an imac, I would look at one of the 27" 5k displays from companies like LG or Asus ProArt.

Buy Studio Display now or wait for the new one in 26?

I would wait. If you need a 27inch 5K now you could grab the ASUS Pro Art for $799. The screen is great even if the build quality is a little cheap. Then when the new Studio Display comes out sell the Asus for at least of what you paid for it or use it as a secondary display.

Switched from a bulky i5-13600K tower to my first Mac ever for development. The desk feels so much cleaner, but I need monitor advice!

There's lots of affordable 5K 27" monitors available now. I'd look at the 27" 5K ASUS ProArt for something that's good and easy to get. Under $600. I just picked up the 6K 32" ProArt for ~$1050 and it's been amazing. The kuycon looks the best of the cheap ones (styles after the Studio Display/Pro Di

What’s the best current monitor that is not OLED but is as good as OLED?

You have a gaming focused monitor so colour accuracy is not priority despite it being IPS. If it is yours then buy a decent IPS from the productivity range, like Asus ProArt or Dell Ultrasharp. The problem will be trying to match your MacBook Pro Display closely: it’s very high resolution (200+ PPI,

Mini-LED vs OLED? ~$350 for Photo Editing / Media, No Gaming

If you need something for photo editing, which requires color accuracy, I would say look at the new ProArt PA278QV Gen2. It is 100% SRGB and 95% DCI-P3 with a ΔE < 2 and 120hz VRR, 1440p. All for 259$. But if you wanted to push the budget a bit there is the ProArt PA279CRV which is 4K and covers 99%

Thinking of Mac Studio/Studio Display: Wait till Black Friday?

Right. So, again, I don’t see much of a point in spending $1,600+ list for the Studio Display when there’s other options that give you a similar 5K experience for a lot less money right now. The ASUS ProArt 5K for example, is $850. Plastic build and no Thunderbolt or webcam, but similar image qualit

Complete the phrase: You're not a real photographer until you break a _____ or two.

Today he agreed that we should move ahead with the computer I'm building to edit photos and video and run LLMs locally. 100% support this move. Related to this, get a good monitor. I have an Asus ProArt 27-inch monitor and it's great. Have heard good things about BenQ monitors too. I spent way too l
