These are the best $600 range mini PCs
First and most importantly, I applaud your providing this information to help others. I don't disagree with anything you said on its face but I do have something to add. If all you want to look at is performance for the price, then there's not much more to say. But if you legitimately expect your mi

New Plex build OS choice?
I was running Plex on my Qnap (453D) that has internal GPU. All was fine untill h265 and other modern codex. Now I run Plex on Unraid running on a Asus NUC 14 Pro i5 with integrated intel Arc; I still use the QNAP as storage for my media collection that is being accessed over NFS. It has been runnin

What would you do differently with your next Plex Server?
I would set it up exactly like I have it now: ASUS NUC 14 Pro (ultra 7, 32GB ram) running Ubuntu + Docker on mirrored NVMEs. Synology DS running SHR with 52 TB spinning disk storage, with caching drive. NFS mounted, pass through iGPU. Beast mode, fast, stable, lots of streams, 4K, whatever. I have a

Need help. Which two to order?
I bought it specifically because I wanted it to be a powerful nvme Nas/server. I already have an Asus Nuc 14 pro+ (core 9 ultra loaded with 96 GB ram). The only shortcoming of my mini server is it has one full length 2280 nvme and one 2242 slot (which really limits your purchase options on that seco

Akasa fanless cases are out for NUC 14
Actually, my Asus NUC 14 Pro+ (Core Ultra 9) works perfectly with the Akasa Turing RC PRO case. Also, contrary to what some posts claim, it's entirely possible to set it up without having to solder the front panel plug: In the BIOS, limit PL1 to 40W In the BIOS, set the NUC to power on automatically

why f42 gnome performance unexpectedly increased on my laptop
It was because of the Power Mode. I had the same "issue" with my ASUS NUC 14 Pro mini desktop PC. When I used Balanced or Power Saver, GNOME seemed to run at 30 FPS. It was noticeable when using the Hot Corner or switching desktops. Using Performance however, GNOME seemed to run at 60 FPS or more. B

My NUC 14 Pro+ Ultra 5 125H has a bug when monitors go in standby and wake up, the cooling profile goes to "whisper" and cannot be modified from MyAsus anymore, I can choose whatever profile, but doesn't work, is still stuck on "whisper". Would a MiniPC be a suitable replacement for my wife's Lenovo ThinkCentre M710q?
Yes! Windows 10 will not be supported for security updates after October 2025. You will either have to pay an ongoing subscription or switch operating systems. The other operating systems are Windows 11 Pro, a Linux distro, or MacOS. Since consistency is important for your wife, look into a new mini
