Is it just me or fonts look much better on mac than windows?
Windows and macOS use different methods to display their fonts. MS’s approach works better across a wider variety of display sizes and resolutions. Apple’s method works better on their preferred display sizes and resolutions. So, macOS fonts would look better than Windows on something like the Apple

Switched from a bulky i5-13600K tower to my first Mac ever for development. The desk feels so much cleaner, but I need monitor advice!
4K will still not be the ‘crispest’ that you could find - though it’ll certainly be a massive step up from what you have right now. The sweet spot for you will be 5k or 6k monitors (quite a few options even in the 6k category from LG, ASUS, Kuycon). If money isn’t an issue, I’d be looking at a Studi

Where Are All the 8K Monitors?
Proper high PPI desktop screens across all sizes seem to be an abandoned segment right now, not only on big screens, and I feel like we regressed over the last few years. The only exceptions right now seem to be the Apple Studio Display (and obviously that doesn‘t come close to your screen size desi

Which monitor would you recommend for my Mac mini? I’d love to hear your experience with your own monitor setup.
I have 2 of the Dell S2725QC (27" 4K 120Hz USB-C)... no scaling "issues", everything looks nice and sharp when set to 1440p scaling. It's one of the best-value monitors for Mac right now. If you want true retina 5k you'll be spending a lot more: BenQ PD2730S 27" 5K ASUS ProArt Display 27” 5K Apple S

Linus Tech Tips - We Chose the WRONG Monitors 5 Years Ago April 11, 2026 at 09:59AM
You can do retina on 4k monitors it just means 1080p interface which is not ideal. Its why all the imacs and studio displays have been 5k for forever. Ends up with 1440p interface which is the sweet spot and then you get double ppi.

Two New Apple Displays Nearing Mass Production, May Launch This Year
and there are very few people who have any need for a 5k monitor over a 4k one for a fraction of the price. Well, our opinions on what other people "need" isn't really relevant. I don't think anyone really needs an iPhone 16 Pro over a 16e, but I still bought one. After using a 5k 27" iMac for 7 yea

LG UltraFine 32" 6K vs. ASUS ProArt 32" 6K: Which 6K Display Should YOU Buy
Agreed, I just got the Asus 6k this week and it’s great. I was very worried given all the reviews about the LuxPixel finish but after using it I literally can’t figure out what they’re talking about. I use the Apple Studio Display at work and the only difference I can tell is the colors pop more on

Studio Display 2: The Latest Rumors About Apple's Next Monitor
Who all is selling 5K, 600-nit full-screen brightness monitors with excellent speakers, built-in webcam, Thunderbolt/USB-C hub with 96W PD, 100% sRGB coverage, and ~90% Adobe RGB coverage for significantly less than $1499? Build quality and warranty/service is also a concern here. There are other 5K

Just bought a new Mac Mini M4; why is my text and overall picture quality fuzzy?
I splashed out and bought the Apple Studio display. I don't regret it one bit. Pin sharp text and beautiful colours. It's a 5K, 27" monitor. It's expensive, but worth it.

LG Display unveils 5k 27" 120hz tandem OLED panel with RGB Stripe Sub-Pixel Layout
Is what people who never used 220ppi at 27 inches always say. I have an Apple Studio Display mounted next to a Asus PG27UCDM 27 inch 4k qd oled. The difference is tremendous.
