Apple testing a Studio Display with high-end ports and speakers | Code discoveries point to dual Studio Display 2 configurations, with changes that may separate a standard model from a premium one.
The Pro Display XDR is over six years old and wildly overpriced by current standards. It would make sense to just kill it and replace it with a 32" Studio Display with mini-LED at half the price.

Being 2X the cost of the Studio Display was unreasonable, but being ~66% of the cost of the Pro Display XDR with better brightness/color accuracy/connectivity/local dimming is a much more sensible interpretation. Alogic Debuts $2,000 32-Inch 6K Display With Touch Support (compatible with Mac)
Forget 60Hz, 400 nits feels very rough for a display this expensive. For reference the Pro Display XDR does 1000 nits sustained and 1600 nits HDR.
