What 32-inch glossy monitors are currently available that can match the brightness and contrast of Macbook Pros?
The pro display XDR I believe is one of the few. First of all 4K is not going to be as good as the pixel density on the MacBook Pro but if you’re targeting just 4K, I would probably look into a good mini LED monitor. The issue is that the MacBook Pro has a huge number of dimming zones on a very smal

Apple's Studio Display XDR Supports DICOM Medical Imaging for Diagnostic Radiology
If you include every budget monitor on the planet sure, not for the price, 27" 5k P3 monitors w/ a ΔE < 2 are $500-700 all day long now. For 1.2k you can get a similarly color accurate 6k 32" monitor It's not like say the Pro Display XDR, Cinema Display 30", etc. where literally nobody on the market

Apple discontinues Pro Display XDR
Much less angry about the SD XDR pricing now. Being 2X the cost of the Studio Display was unreasonable, but being ~66% of the cost of the Pro Display XDR with better brightness/color accuracy/connectivity/local dimming is a much more sensible interpretation. Yes, it got a little smaller, but ergonom

Apple fixed it. Studio Display XDR.
There are other "cheap" medical grade monitors. For example, this one from LG is about $3000: https://solutions.lg.com/us/diagnostic-monitors/lg-32hl512d-b The Apple display's specs are pretty outrageous. It's definitely in a niche, but it's the first and only occupant of that niche. The odd thing a

Apple's Studio Display 2 Reportedly on Track to Launch This Year With These New Features
I hope they just do basically the same monitor in two sizes. Mini-LED, ProMotion, available in 5K 27" or 6K 32". Having a fully separate Pro Display XDR doesn't make much sense anymore now that you can achieve similar color and backlight performance in a cheaper mini-LED backlit display.

Real-world experience with the ViewSonic 5K (VP2788-5K) — color accuracy, reference modes, and how it compares to Apple
TL;DR Same image, three screens.ViewSonic = neutral & honest.MacBook = very good middle ground.iPad = looks great, but adds punch. What you’re seeing here is the same image displayed on three very different classes of screens: Top: ViewSonic colour-critical monitor (IPS, hardware-calibratable, Rec.7

Not many options for 5K-4K 32" OLED + USB-C + Thunderbolt 4-5
Yeah, that doesn’t exist. Also, image quality is kind of a vague thing. OLD is in a lot of ways worse than IPS when it comes to productivity and that’s the biggest reason people are buying these very high resolution monitors. This year we are getting 5K 27 inch 165 Hz mini LED panels OLED does not s

Studio Display XDR Owners: Thoughts so far?
Used it for a week as my primary work monitor then the weekend for personal use. Main takeaway: the new tech does not overcome going from 32” to 27” (I have 2 pro display XDR). Issues of blooming or really edge cases in my day to day. 120hz was barely a difference in my workflow I’ll miss having thu

681: The Price of Your Nightmares
Are there 6k 32 inch monitors on the market today that are better in any way than the Pro Display XDR? John and Marco seem disappointed that there isn’t an upgraded option available (120hz, more dimming zones, higher peak brightness). I don’t see why they’d buy a different 6k monitor today, regardle

Is the older Apple 32" XDR Pro Display worth it over the newly released 27" Studio XDR Display?
Yes, that’s right. Apple doesn’t make its own display panels, and there isn’t a mini led 6K panel available. Maybe the Pro Display XDR will come back at some point. LG is coming out with its own 5K that uses the same mini led panel, apparently in Q2 but there’s no release date or price yet. Will lik
