Crazy thing is, for work I had a 2015 MacBook Pro and upgraded to the M1 Pro five years later. It has been five years since and I have absolutely no reason to upgrade. It is an incredible machine and moving to their own SOCs was one of the best decisions Apple ever made.

I had a 14” M1 Pro until around this past Christmas. Ran wonderfully the whole time. I had it on that old Best Buy/Citizens leasing program, so I had to send it back, and now I have a MacBook Neo and an M4 Mac Mini. No regrets with the Pro though. It’ll still run really well.

Nice setup, similar idea as mine. I have an M1 Max 64GB Studio, a 32GB M2 Pro Mini, and a MacBook M1 Pro 32GB as a "rag" and a Linux laptop as the only entry point into a closed loop. Can't say it's a beast, but it gets the job done.
