Here's How Much Faster MacBook Air Gets With M5 Chip vs. M4 Chip

It’s amazing how far Apple has moved me down the chip line. I started using Macs on a Power Mac G5 dual 1.8Ghz in 2004. At the time? That was just sort of expected if you were serious about photo or video. That G5 became a Core2Duo 24” iMac around 2008, which led to a 27” i7 iMac around 2013 which b

MacBook Neo review: Apple puts every $600 Windows PC to shame

My work issued Lenovo is worse in every way compared to my M1 Pro 14 inch MacBook and cost just as much. I work in IT and could easily do my job on the Neo, I wish I could convince the higher ups to let us use MacBooks.... Would save us a ton of money in the long run.

Tech bros are lying to you about the MacBook Neo

You definitely could use it for all of the basics of graphic design. As an Art Director, till last year I was using my work supplied Intel MacBook Pro that was inferior to a Neo in all regards other than display accuracy. The computers we have these days fly through most Adobe apps compared with wha

I do not personally think the new video makes a fair comparison.

I'd love to know what witch's curse befell Wade to cause him such constant bad luck with electronics I was surprised when I heard him say his M1 MacBook Pro "chugs". I have the M1 Pro version of the 16" MacBook Pro, it's not even the M1 Max, and it's still just as fast as ever under MacOS 26. Mind y

Apple not highlighting Final Cut Pro in new MacBook Pro announcement - instead displaying Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve

Here's a logical reason - it's not impressive for a new MacBook Pro to be able to run Final Cut Pro well. I have a five year old MacBook Pro that only struggles with a handful of niche features on Final Cut Pro, and that may have more to do with the 16 GB RAM size than the M1 Pro chip. Premiere Pro

F*** MacBook finally got this beauty

Kinda silly to be angry or aggressive over hardware. MacBooks are great machines, best in class honestly from a power and efficiency perspective. So are the Snapdragon based thinkpads. I love my AMD T14s Gen6, but it’s for specific purposes, and is inferior in every other way to my MacBook Pro. Outs

Five Years of Apple Silicon: M1 to M5 Performance Comparison

Crazy thing is, for work I had a 2015 MacBook Pro and upgraded to the M1 Pro five years later. It has been five years since and I have absolutely no reason to upgrade. It is an incredible machine and moving to their own SOCs was one of the best decisions Apple ever made.

Looking for a laptop for music production

CoreAudio >>>>> ASIO drivers. I’ve tried the same software on my various MacBooks and desktop PCs over the years. Every time, the less powerful on paper MacBook has just trounced what I can achieve in Windows in terms of stability and track/plugin count. Pretty much any Apple Silicon MacBook will pr
