Here's a logical reason - it's not impressive for a new MacBook Pro to be able to run Final Cut Pro well. Crazy thing is, for work I had a 2015 MacBook Pro and upgraded to the M1 Pro five years later. It has been five years since and I have absolutely no reason to upgrade. It is an incredible machine and moving to their own SOCs was one of the best decisions Apple ever made.
