iPad Air has M processor, 8GB RAM, Apple Pencil 2 support, laminated display with better colour support and anti-reflective coating, and the ability to use Apple Stage Manager on an external display. Even a refurbished M1 iPad Air (direct from Apple online store) is better than the recent base iPad.

Since Apple introduce the new chassis for the Air; The iPad Air 4 (2020) uses A14, while the iPad Air 5 (2022) have the M1. Then if you’re saying you got the M2, thats iPad Air 6 (2024) and you’re saying you wanted to get the iPad Air 7 (2025) that have the M3? Not worth it bro. M2 is enough for Arc

For digital art, the iPad Air line with the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen will be better than the USB-C Pencil, because it has pressure sensitivity. However, you said you could get an adapter for your current pencil… does that mean you have the 1st generation Lightning pencil with pressure sensitivity? If so

Get the 10th gen or the iPad Air 4. Both are great devices, the Air 4 is slightly better for drawing though. If you could afford it, the iPad Air 5 is the best option, it has the M1 processor which is very powerful and will handle everything. I am using it right now.

I recommend the M2 iPad Air because of the bigger screen, that might be of better use as an artist. My 10.9 inch M1 iPad Air is a nice mix of portable and screen real estate IMO. However, I would recommend the iPad mini 7 if you absolutely need the better portability. Although IMO, anything less tha

I’d go for the iPad Air 13” M3 256GB WiFi + Cellular ($750). It’s the newest/most future-proof with M3 chip, great for school apps, note-taking (full Apple Pencil Pro support), and multitasking with your 70GB+ stuff. Bigger screen than your current Air 5, 256GB solves storage, cellular adds flexibil

Get the air. More future proof and has a much better screen. I traded my a16 with m1 iPad Air from how bad the glare on the a16’s screen was. A non laminated display (which is in the a16 iPad) is also worse for drawing.

I couldn’t have said it better. I’m a college student as well and I got my M1 iPad Air 256 GB on sale ( when Apple was clearing inventory for the M2 Air’s release). Despite the age, I feel it writes very smooth and I made the best decision to get the 256 GB option! I’m not even using 1/4 of the stor

Get a refurbished iPad Air instead. Look I know it sounds dumb, but I have used the a16 iPad for exactly 1 year for studying and I have traded it with m1 iPad Air 3 weeks ago. The a16 iPad was great, and pretty fast with everything I was trying to do, BUT the screen was horrible. A non-laminated dis

i’d probably pass on the 2017 pro for a graphic designer. that screen is gorgeous but the processor is gonna struggle with larger illustrator files and procreate layers. for someone who uses those apps daily, the sweet spot right now is either the iPad Air with an m1 or m2 chip - plenty of power for
