I just bought the M5 MacBook Air and the iPad feels completely USELESS. Change my mind.

iPads are mostly used for note taking, sketching, media consumption and gaming. I bought a used iPad 9th gen less than a week ago cuz I wanted to sketch and also don't want to carry a ton of notebooks when I go to college. Main purpose is I always felt I needed a bigger screen but not a laptop which

Procreat/Ipad recommendations

for procreate you really want apple pencil 2 support - the magnetic charging is a game changer. ipad 9th gen works but uses the old pencil 1 which charges awkwardly. sweet spot is iPad Air 4 or iPad Pro 2018 11-inch. both run procreate perfectly, have pencil 2 support, and go for $300-400 refurbishe

I need an ipad for note taking preparation for destination grades

I am using an iPad 9th gen. I had a good experience with taking notes on it. I only used the Notes app. Did not experince any lag or bug. I did not use apple pencil, just used something that I bought online and still it works fine. None.

Ipad or Wacom?

Wacom’s suck and they’re expensive - from someone who’s doing digital art since the early 2010’s. Get a huion or a xp pen. If they want to do digital anywhere then yeah an iPad or a xp pen like portable tablet would suffice fine. A 9th gen iPad and regular Apple Pencil first edition isn’t too bad bu

what ipad model should i get?

i feel you on apple prices outside the us. for your mix of calligraphy and video editing, you'll want an ipad that supports apple pencil 2 and has decent ram. ipad air 4 or 5 (m1) used strikes a good balance - the m1 handles video export way faster than older chips. avoid the base ipad 9th gen becau

Best 2nd hand iPad for Drawing, Note-taking, and Freelance work on a tight budget. Which iPad model should I save up for?

i feel you on the budget struggle. for used ipads on a tight budget, ipad 9th gen (2021) is your sweet spot - supports apple pencil 1st gen and runs procreate fine. ipad air 4th gen (2020) gives you pencil 2 magnetic charging and laminated screen but costs more used. ipad pro 2018 is overkill unless

Apple pencil 1st gen/usb c or alternatives?

I tried several third party brands on Amazon and always had connectivity issues. The Apple pencil has worked best for me. I settled on the 1st generation model because my iPad 9th gen doesn't support the newer models. It has palm rejection and pressure and tilt sensitivity. It's been working great.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread

Someone help me please! 🙏 I had the iPad 9th gen and an Apple Pencil since 2021, I loved it because I could do everything on it, I got it mainly for drawing but then used it for other things(playing, watching movies, homework etc.) But recently in January it started to turn off by itself then comple

Laptop or IPad for cegep

I’m studying with my ipad 9th gen with an apple pencil + keyboard since 2022. I don’t think a laptop is a necessity but it depend of what you like. My suggestions would be an iPad air m4 or a MacBook Air m4/m5 if you want cheaper options you can go with the ipad a16 or the macbook neo.
