My HomePod somehow became the smartest thing in my apartment
I hate my HomePod mini’s. Every software update I encounter immense problems with them and have to reset / restart them. One I lost to the “ghost touch” problem and can’t revive it. Up until recently I had two minis - one on either side of my bed and an ultra short through projector at the foot of m

Ghost touch didn’t get fixed with 26.4
Apple really should include an option to disable the touch input entirely. I have never once touched the panel on my HomePod mini, and would just as soon disable it to avoid any potential issues.

If your HomePod mini has ghost touch, comment with your details
I have two HomePod mini (bought in December 2020) and two HomePod 2nd generation (March 2022). Both minis have been suffering from ghost touches for over a year now and are still having the issue today — which is why I’m here. The 2nd gen ones started showing the same problem last year, randomly bla

Apple Home, Dirigera, and Matter: A Solution (?)
Hey. I had the same issue: until I stopped messing with the ikea hub and app. Just pair in HomeKit. Don’t worry about the ikea software or hub at all. It caused way more issues than it’s worth. A simple HomePod mini or two or an Apple TV 4K is all ya need.

August Wi-Fi lock works, but not very well
I put a HomePod mini close to it (4 feet) and it works like a charm

What smart home setup do you actually rely on daily?
Many people buy an Apple HomePod Mini, plug it in, and don't even realize they've just installed a Thread Border Router. It really can be that easy. On the other hand, some people buy a Thread device, don't understand that it needs to be routed through a ZigBee-like mesh, and expect a battery-powere

Switching from Alexa
Different person here, can’t really answer your first question but in my experience the Apple TV was actually a bigger change than the HomePod (in a good way). I was used to using built-in functionality of Samsung/LG TVs, Fire Sticks, etc., and Apple TV blows them out of the water. It’s just faster,

Honestly, WTH? Who can explain what is going on here?
I get this error when I tell one of my smart plugs to power on or off using a HomePod Mini. My HomePod Mini has trained me to say it exactly as "Hey Siri, living room pet cam power on/off" If I say "Hey Siri, turn off the living room pet cam" or if I swap the order of basically any part of the sente

Bluetooth speakers basically killed dedicated home audio setups for normal people
Or you just upgrade to something like an HomePod mini. Gets rid of that problem.
