$50 of it is the motors and mechanical bits. The other $250 is the software that makes it work seamlessly with the printer. There’s a reason other companies implementations are not nearly as good. I’ve tried the anycubic kobra and crealities version and it’s nowhere near as good quality.

The place I consult for uses Creo. Edit: to clarify, I modeled it on-site using Creo, exported as a STEP rather than STL to avoid tesselation related artifacts, imported into Anycubic Slicer Next, defaults for generic PLA and hit go. The Kobra S1 is a nice machine for its price.

My regret is not going with Bambu to begin with. I now own 3 Bambu Lab printers. 200, 600, and 1100 hours respectively, the only tinkering I’ve had to do is basic maintenance to keep everything lubed. Kobra S1 has about 300 hours on it, with probably 299.95 hours being problem solving test prints 🤣

Der Kobra S1 ist für seinen Preis ein guter Drucker - bei anderen, teils älteren Modellen sieht es anders aus. Was die neuen können wird sich erst zeigen. Aber Anycubic entwickelt sich sehr gut und verbessert sich stetig. Edit: guter Drucker 😅

Kobra X is new and doesn’t have the proven long-term reliability/reputation of the A1, but spec-wise and feature-wise it’s the better printer. I’ve had a great experience, great print quality, and no issues after 30 hours of printing, and it seems like Anycubic has really stepped up their game with
