New 3d printers are so much easier to use. I was in the same boat as you, but after talking to some people in the hobby and my son wanting one for christmas, we bit on an anycubic kobra 3 v2, and its been absolutely amazing.

$50 of it is the motors and mechanical bits. The other $250 is the software that makes it work seamlessly with the printer. There’s a reason other companies implementations are not nearly as good. I’ve tried the anycubic kobra and crealities version and it’s nowhere near as good quality.

So this is my first Bambu Labs printer. The printer I was using previously was the Anycubic Kobra S1 combo and when it comes to color swapping I was always running into layer swifts but with H2C no issue outta the box at all.

This question is why I haven’t bought a replacement for my POS Anycubic Kobra S1 yet. I really think that Bambu thought that the H2C was going to be the market innovation and got caught napping by the U1. The controversy around Bambu is mainly about their closed ecosystem and the move to block third-party apps, not about the quality or reliability of the printers themselves.
