I think only bullet point 2 matters here the most. Don’t let people gaslight you that the Kaleido 3 is an OK screen when it clearly bothers you. It is an amazing screen for those who don’t notice the screendoor effect, but if your eyes are sensitive, it just makes it unusable. I have a Kindle Oasis

Try to mess with settings a bit. I find the dark mode on the KLC great, not significantly different than my kindle oasis, the grey only really appears in light mode when ambient light is bright. Try to bring the lights down a bit, if you have the brightness too high that might be what's actually str

I went from a Kindle Oasis and Paperwhite to a Kobo Libra Colour, and I love it. The color isn't anything amazing, but I really enjoy reading on it and it's big enough that I can read comics (though I do sometimes have to zoom in). i think the text on the Kobo Clara Colour would be too small for com

They discontinued the oasis and it makes me so sad, my screen broke and I can’t get a new one. But speaking to the point of this thread, when my Oasis kindle broke (RIP), I pulled out my old kindle (probably paperwhite?) that I bought in 2019 and it still works perfectly. I use it every day.

To illustrate the greyness of this ireader Ocean 5 C here is a comparison: ( from left to right. All with built-in light OFF) Top : Kobo Libra (B/W version) , Likebook Muses (7.8" sunken screen - one of my all time favourite reader. Clean white background with text displaying closest to the surface

I have a Kindle Oasis 2 and a Boox Go 7 Colour Gen II. The Oasis is best because it has buttons. And I can read it at home, indoors, in regular lighting (lamps) without needing to use the frontlight. The Boox has buttons. And I can use apps on it, which I need for certain things (just reading - libr

Kindles are usually okay. Kobos are more sensitive but stronger than this one. But yes. This displays are mostly very sensitive to pressure. I had a kobo libra colour in folio case in my back pack and something put pressure on it and it was broken when I got to work. I have only tried the kindle oas

If you have the backlight off? None. Zero. If you have the backlight on (I only have it on in the dark), and turn it on to 1-8% set to ultra warm, it is still very minimal. I can read for hours on it with no problem unlike a traditional LED/OLED display. E-ink displays are hands down the best way to

I never got the Voyage (Kindles were difficult to buy at the time - not possible through any Amazon branch - and through local resellers it cost far more than I could afford; I did get the Oasis in 2017 which cost me 350 euro and turned out to be the “ad-supported” one) but I keep hearing great thin
