The Best Wi-Fi Mesh Networking Systems

Few things are as frustrating as dealing with slow, inconsistent Wi-Fi, especially when a single router struggles to cover an entire home. Whether you're trying to stream in the bedroom or take Zoom calls from the backyard, signal dropouts and sluggish speeds are all too common when one device is ta

I'm out of contract. Where would you go?

I just started a 12 month contract with Olilo. £37/month for 900Mbps. Also added an upfront of £130 for an Eero 7 pro router expecting that it will cover a property that currently takes my BT Hub 2 extra nodes. If it doesn’t, they’ve said I can add another for the same £130. Bit of a bargain conside

The Best Wi-Fi Mesh Networking Systems

Few things are more annoying than fighting with Wi-Fi that just won’t reach where you need it. I’ve had my fair share of pacing around the house with my laptop or phone trying to catch a stable signal, especially when I want to stream something in bed or jump on a video call from the porch. That’s w

Truly Maddening: RBR50 End of life. What Next?

I just retired my ~10 yr old Orbi RB50 setup and got the eero 7 Pro 2 node system and am very happy. Getting 950 MBps down wired and 1100 down wireless on my iPhone 17 Pro Max wirelessly using my 1 GB Spectrum cable service. Set up NextDNS filtering at the router level and am pleased so far. Skip th

Disposing of all my Asus networking gear

I've been a loyal Asus customer and have been running their wifi routers and networking gear since the mid-2000s. But the quality and stability of my network continued to erode. I've experienced both hardware and software issues without rhyme or reason.

I have a very large property, and had 6 nodes

Is there a reason why I'm only finding a single company that makes retractable ethernet reels?

That, or just go with Eero 7s.

Eero WiFi extender

Most the eero devices CAN work as an extender -- you have a GW and the rest are extenders. Maybe an extender cannot work as GW. When you get the device you add it to your network and it is an extender! You can search on FB marketplace and ebay for low cost eero 7 devices and use it as a extender onl

200Mbps limit from switch or Eero 7?

I bought a Ubiquiti wired router and an AP. I have faster speeds and a more reliable network as opposed to the eero. Before I would have to put my iPhone in airplane mode every morning and turn off airplane mode to connect back with a decent speed. Also the Ubiquiti router and AP don’t hide settings

What am I doing wrong?

You'll need multi-gig or 10G capable equipment. The FRX-523 ONT from Frontier (ie. the one you have) has a 10GBASE-T port (the metal one) that can negotiate 1G, 2.5G, 5G, and 10G speeds. - Router: Your Eero 6E has a 2.5G port and 1G port. If you only need to connect up a single wired device + have a

Adding eero 7 Pro’s with Zen

I currently have an eero 6E with my 2300 Mbps service. I see that Amazon have a promotion on the 7 Pro. I assume I can just switch the 6e that’s connected to the ONT with the 7 and move the 6e to another room?

Also, is £439 a good deal for a 2 pack? I don’t think I need the max.
