Laptop motherboards
I currently have two laptops: an Alienware Aurora 16x with a Core Ultra 9 275HX, 32GB RAM, and an RTX 5070 for gaming that I bought last month; and a 2 1/2 year old XPS 15 with a Core i9 13900h, 32 GB RAM, and an RTX 4060 for work. They're both excellent and I love them. The previous laptop I had bo

Dell Alienware Support: A $5,000 Frustration
I ended up buying another Alienware because I missed the initial box opening experience. I had much more expensive laptop back in 2017, (Alienware 17 R4) it was around $2500 dollars. But seeing your post brings back the ptsd .My mind decided to hide issues about the key caps, laptop randomly freezin

Thinking about getting a 16x aurora for electrical engineering.
To be honest, yes, the Alienware 16x Aurora does get hot. When I first opened it and started doing basic tasks, it was running at around 80 degrees Celsius while practically doing nothing, and while playing AAA games it reached 100-105 degrees (with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and The Last of Us Part II).

Alienware Aurora 16X keyboard RGB āauroraā effect is no longer smooth, even before Windows loads
Same for me. Alienware Aurora 16X AC16251 received as gift on December 2025. Suddenly the Aurora effect stopped working properly, no more transitions but only jumps from color to color. After following the instructions from Dell support (simply reinstalling AWCC and after a complete reinstall of the

Alienware 16X Aurora overheat
The 16X is just a new Dell G16 with an Alienware logo slapped on it, so it's not surprising to see this. But I guess it's "normal" as long as it's not crashing. Either way I wouldn't be happy with such a thermal impact from such minimal usage.

Alienware Aurora 16 or 16x
I've had it for two months now, the 16x Aurora RTX 5070 is very good in terms of power and portability. My only personal problem is the keyboard chassis; it feels really cheap compared to my previous Alienware laptops. Recently, I suddenly sneezed and three drops fell on the right palm rest. When I

In-Depth Review of Area 51 16ā and Aurora 16X + Why Nvidia Makes It Worse
Honestly I have the Aurora 16x with the 5070 and it's fine. It plays games fine; it's excellent at video editing. It's rather have something overbooked than something flimsy; the Aurora feels like a tank. Honestly, my only complaint is that I wish there was a legitimate way to cover the Alienware lo

Is it just me or does the new Aurora look subpar?
I agree. If you look at teardowns of them you can see that the magnesium subframe that used to wrap the whole chassis or at least reinforce the whole palmrest in older models stops at the keyboard. Most of the frame is a thin plastic sheet with a thin stamped backplate to reinforce it. The whole bac

Dell's CES 2026 chat was the most pleasingly un-AI briefing I've had in maybe 5 years
The problem is Dell killed G3 and G5 last year and pumped out utter trash such as 16 and 16X Aurora under Alienware's name instead
