Shaken by incident…what cameras do you recommend?
Tbh I find gopros too expensive to use as a glorified dash cam. I just use cheap Chinese action cams which are perfectly adequate. My current one is an Akaso V50x I think - fraction of the price of a gopro

Cheap Amazon GoPro/wearable style camera for cruise
I've got an AKASO V50X which I use snorkeling. They go for around $100 on Amazon, including underwater case and various mounting attachments. It uses a microSD card for storage and wi-fi to transfer files and stream. I'm happy with it.

Bike camera recommendations?
I’ve been riding for 4 years with an inexpensive Akaso V50X (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07WZMP2P3). The video isn’t GoPro quality but it’s good enough. I mount it on my handlebars as I don’t want to risk having anything attached to my helmet that could snag on the ground if I fall. The lens is wide a

Best cam on a budget?
If your phone is less than three years old, you likely will get a better video out of that than a sub-$150 action camera. I have a sub-$150 camera, and while it was OK for daytime travel vlogging, it was not so good for running and unsatisfactory for night or low-light video. The stabilization was j

Why don't decent sub $100 action cameras exist?
My thoughts exactly. However there are decent deals out there. I just bought a used pro version of the EK7000 for $30 on eBay from a reputable seller. The pro version has stabilization, yours doesn't. I can't wait to see how mine performs on the handle bars of my dirt bike and motorcycle What I find

Micro SD cards Compatibility with V50x Camera
For anyone searching and finding this thread, as of early 2025 Akaso is now recommending a “Class 10 or UHS-I rating” card with a “capacity up to 256GB.” https://support.akasotech.com/hc/en-us/articles/7218300356889-What-are-the-SD-card-requirements-for-the-V50X FWIW, I’ve been using a 128GB Samsung

Do any action cameras have dashcam function
I use an inexpensive Akaso V50X as a dashcam, mounted on my handlebars. The 4K video isn’t GoPro quality but it’s plenty good for dashcam purposes. It comes with 2 batteries, buy extras as each one lasts 60+ minutes at 4K, or you can power it from an external battery.

Does anyone make a "tiny" bike-mountable camera for legal/insurance purposes only?
amazon akaso v50x is what I use, it's $110 not sub $100. Battery is good for over an hour.
