Cheap Chinese action cameras basically lie to you. I had the same exact thing with an akaso v50x. Yes, the file is encoded at 4k resolution, but the sensor is not capturing true 4k like you would get on something like a DJI, GoPro, Insta360 etc.

Maybe try the Akaso 360. Just be aware that Akaso is a significant drop in image and sound quality compared to the latest models from GoPro, DJI, Insta360, etc. Akaso EK7000 is a real budget camera.
