Best budget action camera that's still really worth it? Any recommendations?

I have 4 Akaso V50X. Bought them @ ~US $100/each (mtb, skiing/snowboarding, paragliding, scuba-diving with the kids, etc...). They used to be quite decent for the price. But the hardware was updated and the image quality is absolutely terrible now. 4k is supposed to mean "good image quality" but low

Is this Akaso EK7000 or EK7000 Pro, Worth $72 or $55?

If the only place you ever will watch videos is your phone, some of these budget cams can be okay. V50X v1 firmware

Hi! I bought my V50X second-hand, and after about a month it got bricked after a reset. Since I can't RMA it, I was wondering if you still have the firmware Akaso sent you. Even if it didn't fix your camera, I'd really appreciate it if you could send me the file so I can give it a try. Thanks!

4K video doesn't look like 4K on my PC

Cheap Chinese action cameras basically lie to you. I had the same exact thing with an akaso v50x. Yes, the file is encoded at 4k resolution, but the sensor is not capturing true 4k like you would get on something like a DJI, GoPro, Insta360 etc.

Akaso EK7000 for Francis Bourgeois-style self film angle?

Maybe try the Akaso 360. Just be aware that Akaso is a significant drop in image and sound quality compared to the latest models from GoPro, DJI, Insta360, etc. Akaso EK7000 is a real budget camera. Another option might be the Akaso V50X. They might be adequate for some uses, but the sound is quite

Bad video quality on akaso v50x? Any help

I have both: old version: V50X-3881 (sony IMX386 image sensor, I believe) firmware: V50X-FX-2G-20220425-V4.1 H.264 & H.265 Video quality was good enough for my MTB and scuba-diving home videos. Could not get sound to import properly into DaVinci Resolve, or most other video editors from the H.265 vi
