4K video doesn't look like 4K on my PC

Cheap Chinese action cameras basically lie to you. I had the same exact thing with an akaso v50x. Yes, the file is encoded at 4k resolution, but the sensor is not capturing true 4k like you would get on something like a DJI, GoPro, Insta360 etc.

Bad video quality on akaso v50x? Any help

I have both: old version: V50X-3881 (sony IMX386 image sensor, I believe) firmware: V50X-FX-2G-20220425-V4.1 H.264 & H.265 Video quality was good enough for my MTB and scuba-diving home videos.
