Cheap Chinese action cameras basically lie to you. I had the same exact thing with an akaso v50x. Yes, the file is encoded at 4k resolution, but the sensor is not capturing true 4k like you would get on something like a DJI, GoPro, Insta360 etc.

Maybe try the Akaso 360. Just be aware that Akaso is a significant drop in image and sound quality compared to the latest models from GoPro, DJI, Insta360, etc. Akaso EK7000 is a real budget camera. I use an inexpensive Akaso V50X as a dashcam, mounted on my handlebars. The 4K video isn’t GoPro quality but it’s plenty good for dashcam purposes. It comes with 2 batteries, buy extras as each one lasts 60+ minutes at 4K, or you can power it from an external battery.
