best speakers for DJing and producing

I’ve got the Adam Audio T8V’s and they are great for mixing and dabbling in production. If you have a small room the T5V’s might do, but I love drum and bass so the 8’s forgo the need for a sub. I’ve had to treat the corners of my room though as my room is on the small side.

August 2025 update

Many thanks! They're Adam Audio T5V's with a T10S subwoofer. You can play audio just fine at lower volumes, but maybe leave out the subwoofer then. The sub is not a good idea in an appartment...

LF speakers for my boyfriends birthday

You are getting conflicting advice which is probably very irritating haha Ignore the acoustic treatment comment by me earlier, for smaller near field speakers it is not quite so important (although in a dedicated studio room I would always recommend it) and is not practical for you. 4.5" - 6.5" coul

r/AudioEngineering Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk

Hi everyone, I’m currently looking to upgrade my old KRK Rokit G3s and I’m torn between the Adam Audio T5V and the KRK RP5 Rokit G5. I'm producing house music in an untreated bedroom. My desk is against the wall, so the monitors will be on stands but back against the wall. My main concern: how much

Studio monitors sound thin compared to headphones

ADAM Audio T5V and all up are great monitors. Close range speakers, very clear, has room on the sound and doesnt go to a brrssstt when you got all your shit hooked on those. Has good backpanel configs. I was going to get those Yamahas too, but then I read something and changed my mind. PHEW! A small

Help with desk audio setup! Compact space

There are speakers that will fix to the side of a TV or monitor. Soundbars are often low profile and might fit as alternative to stereo speakers. Adams Audio make studio monitors. There are models in their range that are designed for horizontal use. which would look right in your space and perform b

Kef LSX II LT or Coda W

Adams Audio pure analogue inputs on the T5V, T7V, T8V and other ranges. Near field detailed speakers with the larger models having more bass and none of the budget spent on DACs, digital, HDMI or streaming services which might all need replacing in 5 or 10 years time.

r/audioengineering would likely be a better place to ask this. You're in luck though, I happen to also be an audio engineer. So first, you don't want to use speakers at all in the same room as where the recording is happening. You'll get feedback loops that way. Always use closed back headphones for

HELP in upgrading my set-up

What's you setup currently? Do you already have a DAC or audio interface? If yes, all you need are studio monitors and a subwoofer if you want deep bass. This Reddit is less of a DJ setup kind of deal, but you could start with a good Adam setup: Adam T5V (340€) Adam T10S (375€) I wouldn't recommend
